Sheraton Grand Los Cabos
The only negative experiences and things I did not like was after a long flight and awaiting a long time to check-in, is being taken to a different desk under false pretenses of a welcoming, This was very frustrating and completely off putting to be subjected to sales techniques of time-shares. Here I was informed of discounts for joining a club and if I were to attend 90 minutes of my time to be picked-up and taken to a place I did not know, to also bring my credit cards and I.D. I asked if this was high pressure sales, I was told that it was not. When I asked why I should bring my credit cards and not just my I.D, I was given a bogus excuse which really translated into the fact that they/you wanted a down payment into a possible timeshare and wanted the credit cards there to avoid a person leaving and reconsidering what they were getting into. I told them I would think about it, here they wanted a $20. holding fee. Being honest, I felt totally compelled to give her the $20 just to get away. We did that knowing that it was the only way to get away from this salesperson. We avoided the many phone-calls to the room the following morning, which in my opinion were really excessive and unrelenting and something we should really not have been put through. Subsequently we did not attend the 90 minute meeting. I felt it a violation of my trust and of me to be treated that way and will warn other visitors what to expect at the check in procedure. It is NOT acceptable.

Very good
Overall we had a good time here. There was a good variety of pools to choose from, the restaurants on site are good - not amazing, but better than average - and the staff was generally knowledgeable and accommodating. Where the experience fell short for us was with the quality of our room (loose electrical outlets, tiny ants in the bathroom, old, stained towels and bed linens, limited TV options, and thin walls), and the feeling that we were a target for opportunistic gouging: timeshare pitches, bait and switch deals, and unclear practices. Obviously Cabo is a popular destination for tourism, and it’s clear there are many angles used by locals and hotels alike to extract as much money as possible from tourists. This is unfortunate, but also not surprising. Just know this before you go so you are prepared.

Wonderful Visit
Our first time to Cabo. Perfect hotel and location. Rented a car from Budget - be careful. Initial price quoted for 5 days was $19.98 (total cost!) I even confirmed that my AMEX card provides the supplemental insurance coverages, but when you get the car they tell you you have to have a copy of your US car insurance policy. End result was $37.00 additional insurance. Knew the low rate was too good to be true! Total was $220 for the 5 days, which was a breakeven versus shuttle costs, and taxi fare for a trip into Cabo. Hotel is beautiful with every imaginable type of landscape. Be sure you walk the entire grounds! Be aware most beaches in Cabo are not swimmable. You can - they have black flags up all the time which means warning (versus red flag which means beach closed). You can swim in the ocean, but the drop-off is very steep, so it can be dangerous. Nice to walk the shoreline, but you need to be aware a rogue wave comes in now and then, and can sweep you off your feet. Be especially careful with little children. Beaches are beautiful. Sheraton has a movable Happy Hour, so quite a deal. Beers are $5.00 from the bar, and tropical drinks are $8-9.00. Very reasonable. Happy Hour makes them very affordable. Food was fine, and reasonably priced. There is a general store on the property, and beers are $1.50 from the cooler, and snacks are very reasonable. Went into town but only to do boat ride to the Arch. Small boat rides are $25.00 and fun.

Very good
I like the expanse and the lovely landscaping. Our room with a patio was also good. However, my friends and I were disappointed because the pool was supposed to be open til 10 but one night, we went at 8:30 and we were told that chlorine had already been added so we couldn't swim. Then there was our bathtub - it wouldn't drain and the next day, it still wasn't drained. Obviously whoever cleaned the room didn't clean the tub. It was only on our third night that the tub was drained. We appreciated the daily change of towels and bedsheets though.

What an amazing place! Full disclosure- I’m more of a Ritz-Carlton/Four Seasons/Loews/St Regis kind of guy and I have stayed at many 5 star resorts. I don’t stay at many Sheraton properties so I wasn’t expecting much. Athough the resort finish and interiors aren’t more than 4 Star, the property and its amenities far exceeded my expectations. The personnel and the food were outstanding. The service was impeccable- not at all what I was anticipating! Front desk check in went well - upgraded because of my spg status to an ocean front room. The food and drinks were all done very well. Had the same waitress Rocio every morning for breakfast. She was great. Knew what to bring us after the first day. Treated us like relatives in from out of town and called us by our first names. Multiple pools with poolside service and one pool had a swim up bar. The drinks were all mixed well and the food consistently really good. The hotel is “Sheraton Grand” and I see why it has that designation. Much more than the average 3 star variety. You won’t be disappointed! And the hotel has great rates! Only con - the beach has humongous waves that crash so loud they will shake the windows in your room. No swimming unless you are suicidal. Never saw a single person swimming out there. To accommodate that the hotel has multiple meandering pools
