Nice old hotel alongside the river. The decor and furnishings give the feeling of going back in time, in a nice way. Friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast included. No laundry service although advertised as such. Beds were not that comfortable. Overall a very nice experience.

Best for the location and view
Beautiful hotel, excellent location, superb city view. Friendly staff, despite not great service. The hotel needs renovation urgently. Breakfast had variety but was not great quality.

Was promised to be air conditioned but the room we paid was not. The hotel is rundown and badly maintained. The staff does its best but can not coverup all the faults of the facility.

Great experience
I stayed one night at the Royal Victoria Hotel and I had a great experience overall. The building is one of the oldest in Pisa and that's what I liked the most about staying at this hotel. Very charming. Some of the furniture are very old (tables, lamps). Instead of a card/pass key to enter your room - like in every modern hotel, they give you an old key that you give back to the concierge every time when you step out. That was cool:) My room was spacious (bigger then a normal hotel room) with a tiny bathroom. When you check out, you have to pay the city taxes... in cash! I didn't have any cash on me and one of the employees (I guess he was the manager) offer to pay for me. Even if it was 1.50€, I found it very nice of him. No air conditionner but they have fan that do the job perfectly!

Average hotel in the center of Pisa
Basic and cheap but clean and friendly. No aircon though and noisy if you leave windows open... Poor breakfast so would recommend you take it outside/ somewhere else. Very nice staff and right in the center so walking distance to all attractions/sites. No parking.

Definitely wouldn’t return
Despite being very dated this hotel could be fantastic however sadly it fails to hit the mark on multiple levels. The room itself was large and spacious however the bed frame was so old it should been consigned to the scrap heap years ago along the mattresses, one of which was heavily soiled, the other coming apart at the seams. I’ve also never seen towels as mattress protectors and they were only placed in the middle portion of the mattress! The bathroom was very dirty with heavy amounts of dust on the tile tops and also a very stained bath. I also agree with another review in that the toilet took forever to fill, not helpful when a double flush is required. I also dread to think what the stain on the towel was - I’m hoping it was just rust. Breakfast was also disappointing and not entirely like the pictures posted, the teapot also should have been thrown out as it was chipped and stained. Ultimately the overall impression of the stay was one of dreariness and very faded glory.

Such a shame...
Fantastic location and lovely, friendly staff. Hotel is beautiful, albeit slightly in need of attention in places. Unfortunately though, the nighttime noise (drunk people shouting until 3am, followed by the world’s loudest road sweeper from 5-6am!) on our front aspect room meant we slept very little (and this is coming from a couple who have two small kids who stop us sleeping much at home anyway). Also, I was unfortunately bitten by bedbugs whilst staying here! Such a shame, as this place looks beautiful and could have been the perfect place to stay otherwise.
