    First time staying at the property and didn't know what to expect and after driving to what seemed like the middle of no where I was very pleasantly surprised. Cabin doesn't look like much from the outside but once you walk in it was spacious, clean, quaint, breathtaking views. I don't know if I would make this a destination vs needed to be in the area but I will consider. Very 👍

    What a beautiful resort! My husband and I were passing through town and got a last minute room at Basin Harbor. When we checked in it was dark so we couldn’t see the grounds and went straight to bed. In the morning we awoke to quite a pleasant surprise. What a lovely place to stay! We walked the property and saw a full yoga class on the boat dock. This place is breathtaking and there’s so much to do here - biking, kayaking, SUP, golf... I would love to come back and spend some quality time at this beautiful resort.

    Lovely property. Secluded and peaceful. Gardens are beautiful. Cabins look simple. Rooms in main lodge are very clean and new bathrooms. Feels like summer camp with water activities, tennis and golf. You are off the grip. Only cell service is their free wifi.

    Beautiful spot - be precise with room selection

    This place is a little gem. A beautiful idyllic place with exceptional views of Lake Champlain and the sights of the kids swimming and diving into the lake is are memories to treasure; great water sports for all; good food; super service. The only slight negative is that the accommodation is mixed and can be a bit cramped. They claimed not to have been provided the full information by hotels.com/Expedia so we were put 4 in a room which was really only fit for 2/3 max. The hotel was basically full. Nonetheless, they did their best and moved us from room to room. We ended up in 3 different rooms in our 3 night stay and whilst this was far from ideal, they were helpful in assisting us move and accommodating our needs as best they could. We liked the Summit building best. Woodlea was also okay. Northway was really too small for us. BUT we really enjoyed our stay despite the hassles with the room.

    Heaven

    Basin Harbor was beautiful, serene, joyful, reassuring, considerate. Room was comfortable and very attractive. Dinner was excellent. Staff helpful. The morning I left I sat for 90 minutes in an Adirondack chair staring at the harbor , the Lake and the green hills across the lake hoping to imprint it in my mind to recall in a time of stress. Perfect.

    I'm a Vermonter and stayed here with my husband and kids midweek in the Champlain House. The resort property is stunning. Our room was wonderful. Large, clean, well decorated in nautical theme. This place is great for couples with children. I was pleasantly surprised at all the fun things for the kiddos including a tiny sandy beach with child size boats that are free, water traumpoline for older kids, diving board into the lake, a heated large pool, and even had a bouncy house with someone making balloon animals for the kids. We went to the sawmill to eat dinner and was very kid friendly. Overall- excellent place and stay. Wish we had more time and money to book one of the lake cottages. Some things that were not up to par were the kids playground is sorely in need of some help with bees making nests in the sand box and some pretty cool (read old) rides that are in desperate need of a paint job and some sprucing up. We were the only ones at the playground. Our room's porch was also in dire need of deep clean with insect homes on the roof (clearly it was not cleaned up when the place opened for the season) and lots of ants and spiders on the porch (if housekeeping swept every day this would not be a problem). Lastly- kudos for this hotel to forego on individual shampoos and use a dispenser but it would have been nice if they went with a Vermont soap company. The bar soap sadly smelled like dial and expected more from a resort.
