Great location - but needs refreshing
The hotel is in a great location but could do with some renovations and refreshing. I called the operator several times and got no answer. Also my wife noticed a smell and what appeared to be smoke in the passageway - She reported it to the front desk - still not sure what the problem was. However the room was clean and tidy and breakfast good.

Exceptional 10.0
Hotel still conveys modern and old grandeur well
Great to be in a large heritage room of this historical hotel visited by heads of state in decades past. 10-year old child able to sleep well on sofa settee. Swimming pool was giant and beautiful and good for families. Terrific front desk service. Foot access to Wangfujing isnt as swift as it used to be, because street end of building leased to stores. Most of the good eating places are in the Wangfujing malls and beneath the bookstore. With building C of hotel closed, evening drink and dining options not as fabulous as before. Room faced inner court yard, which generated air conditioning system noise. Indetectable, though, if you use excellent air conditioning in room.

Spacious room with classical European style
Great stay if you love the classical European style.

Good 6.0
Optimum location but not optimum hotel.
Didn't have a good check in experience. Arrived close to 6pm when check in time was 4pm, but was told room was not ready and had to wait abt half hour. Front desk offered free breakfast for the inconvenience caused after we expressed our displeasure. However breakfast served was same throughout our 5days and we still had to go for our own breakfast outside. Did not utilise bathtub as the water was brown. Room had a musky smell. Do not disturb button was not working and we had to place the sign manually. The room's condition were not flagged to hotel staff as after the bad check in experience and long flight, we were tired to switch rooms even if they had offered. Location was optimum, good set off point to various tourist attractions.

Superb Accommodation at Beijing Hotel Nuo
What my daughters and I love the most about Beijing Hotel Nuo Forbidden City is their SERVICE. Before we came, I was already anxious whether the staff would be accommodating especially since we do not speak Mandarin, although we can understand s little. To our delight, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, very patient in answering all our queries and addressing our concerns. They go out of their way to make us feel comfortable. I felt bad, actually, for not being able to thank them personally on our last day since we are in a hurry to catch our train. One downside, though,is that the wifi didn't work during our last 1 1/2 days at the hotel :( Still, we are very happy and satisfied, and will surely stay here should we have the opportunity to visit Beijing again in the future.
