Profile: Downtown Denver

Profile: Downtown Denver

Downtown Denver is the city’s beating heart – a cluster of steely skyscrapers and prim Victorian abodes, ever abuzz with business, shopping, and entertainment. The affectionately named LoDo, or Lower Downtown, is where you’ll find much of the action, with its trendy boutiques, creative restaurants, and hipster-filled nightspots, occupying historic buildings.

Among the bustle you’ll find the Beaux Arts-style Union Station, with its stately façade, and the glass-encased Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, with its captivating collection. Splicing through Downtown is the tree-lined 16th Street Mall, a people-packed pedestrian thoroughfare studded with fashionable shops, restaurants, and al fresco cafés.

    Perfect 27th floor stay!!!!

We had an amazing experience with this hotel. We stayed on the 27th floor near the Peak Lounge. The hotel staff was very informative and accomadating. Even sent a couple of robes up for us before we got there. The location is perfect for downtown outings! Needless to say we will be back!!!

Enjoyable stay, the only negative was young kids in the hot tub. Clearly stated in the rules they were not allowed, but yet the parents let them play like it was a swimming pool

    Decent!

For the price, I’d say it’s worth it! The food/ drinks served at the hotel were on the pricey side but I suppose that’s just a hotel thing. Peaks Lounge is a must! The gym/ pool area are pretty cool as well. You’d be surprised as to how many people (myself included) couldn’t find the pool entrance right away. Perhaps a sign would help?

Some good some not so good. Overrated.

I had high expectations based on the 9.0 rating on hotels.com. I was disappointed. First the positives- I was welcomed upon arrival. Great lobby with tv, furniture. The 27th floor view and service were excellent. The staff was quick to deliver towels, etc. Whenever I requested. Negatives- The room was comfortable and clean but not enough storage for clothes. The bathroom did not have exhaust. After shower the mirror would fog up. The water pressure for shower was very low because if I tried to get more water it was unbearably hot. Not having housekeeping meant piling up trash. They left a liner for guests to use. It was hard to place the liner. It didn't do the job well. There was too much trash. Hotel should have offered trash removal when needed. No restaurant, fine, but the market pantry left much to be desired. No vegetarian food. If a salad bowl (packed and wrapped in plastic) had only veggies, it was impossible to tell. Many had meat. The burritos had eggs. Bread had cheese. Unappetising food. Some days I just had coffee and pastry for dinner (too tired to go out, after an all day tour). They charged $3.50 per water bottle in the room. Water should have been free for guests. I am even a member of the Hyatt club but had to pay for the two water bottles. Took 30 min to get the WiFi to work. Hotel was listed as 0.7 mile from Union Station. Actually it is 1.25 mile. It was a much longer walk than the 17 minutes as listed.

    Wonderful hotel

The hotel is centrally located, the beds are comfortable. All of the staff was very nice and helpful. The water pressure would be my only complaint.

Great but could use some outside window cleaning

We really enjoyed our stay. Very nice hotel! Not a big deal, but our nice view of the city was less attractive due to the windows being very dirty on the outside.
