Short visit to KCMO
We were in Kansas City to see family and friends, stayed two nights. This is a great area on the Country Club Plaza, very close to the Nelson Atkins Art Museum where we saw an exhibition, and a few steps from shops and restaurants on the Plaza. The hotel in a restored, historic building. We got lucky and parked free on the street in front of the hotel. The staff was efficient and helpful. The lobby is beautiful, with a nice bar and plenty of seating. Patio was beautiful. The building is well decorated as was our room. Everything in the room worked well, wifi was fast and free, clean, nice, comfortable bedding, included microwave and refrigerator. We didn't use the outdoor pool or fitness room but looked attractive and clean. The breakfast room gave a choice of cold food for about $7. and hot food for about $12, both including coffee. All tasted good and included plenty of choices. My Kansas City friends tell me they prefer this hotel for the art fair in September.

Cold Room with No Housekeeping
My husband and I were visiting KC to see our daughter for Easter and her birthday (other daughters stayed with her so we stayed in a hotel). Our 4 night stay was to be a min-vacation and everything was great at the time of check in. Our room looked very nice but cold...Brrr!. Although the weather was beautiful outside (75-80 daytime and high 50's nighttime) we had to run the heat to over-ride their ventilation system which was very loud. We were told that since it's a historic building with non opening windows, their system had to run 24/7. But why is it so loud and why so cold? I have never stayed at a hotel that did not provide housekeeping. Yes, I can make a bed and exchange towels with staff but aren't I entitled to daily housekeeping? We never received any, and by the time we left, there were many dirty towels, coffee mugs and full trash cans. And bed never made :-( We were offered a Marriot rewards program and additional points for the trouble but frankly, I'm confident we may never use them. Very odd service at this very lovely looking hotel. Sorry, but we won't be staying here again.

THIS for THI$???
I'am 6' 3"...when I sat down on the couch in the Fountain Suite I felt the couch was a bit too low. At 6' 3" I would consider my height average maybe a bit above.but definitely felt the couch sat a bit low for my liking. One of the window sills had nearly two dozen dead bugs laying there...the sill itself was sealed by a sheet of clear plastic probably to weatherize the window which was most likely original...but it was not pleasant to look at especially in a room for which I paid nearly $500 for our stay. Paying $15 for parking at your hotel where I paid what I paid was an insult. Finally, I would have appreciated a continental breakfast or at least a complimentary coffee from the Starbucks in the lobby for the money I spent at your hotel. The little coffee maker in the room just didn't appeal to me because for me personally just don't taste very good. I will not be back at this or any other Courtyard/Marriot hotel.

Very Nice Vintage Stay
We arrived about 7pm on a Sunday and were greeted wonderfully by the valet who told us about our parking options. Being that it is located in the city, there was a charge for self park and valet. We used the valet and upon check out they were quite prompt. Plenty of food options near-bye. The lobby was vintage as was the entire décor. Fine vintage, not old. It was beautiful and frankly reminded me of some of the hotels we've stayed in in Europe. The milk shoots were a stitch! Our room was large and modern, The beds were comfortable and the TV was great. There were a few "drop outs' on the cable, but nothing that hindered our watching. The only glitch was a malfunctioning shower valve. It was a minor inconvenience and we made due because we had an early AM appointment. When we informed management they were gracious, apologetic and did right by us by adjusting our charges. This was not a big deal for us as everything else was top notch and lovely. And, the Starbucks in the lobby was fantastic!! We will certainly return as KC looks like a great place to spend more time!!

Very good
Very close to Plaza! walk maybe one block. Big Fountain visible from front sidewalk of hotel. VERY VERY convenient to all the shopping, easy walk to everything you could need. Even close to Andy's Custard... you could walk it at night if you had the energy... we drove. As it was an 80 to 90 degree forecast we were very disappointed the pool was not open. Would have made our stay nicer. On a high note: the gym was brand new and fantastic layout, equipment and very very very nice bathrooms inside the gym area. Loved the fitness/gym area. We used the gym for 2 hours each day.
