    Great Location/Pool
    My family and I stayed here for the 2018 Boston Fan Expo. We arrived via bus to South Station depot and it was either a 10 minute walk or 5 min cab ride.The hotel was huge and the lobby was gorgeous. Our concierge Natalie was so pleasant and welcoming. Our room and beds were bigger than expected (double beds) and very cozy and clean. The staff were nice and while at the convention I decided to get a tattoo - afterwards I realized that I did not have any anti-bacterial ointment with me so I called the front desk to asked about the closest CVS and instead they had security bring me packets up to my room. My kids and I enjoyed the pool which is opened until 12AM and has a small hot tub next to it. The gym located right next to it is like an all out gym membership type of gym. The locker rooms and all were nice and cleanly. It was so convenient to attend the Boston Fan Expo convention (got to meet Jeff Goldblum and the cast from Back to the Future :) since there is a bridge that connects you from the inside. I was able to get free wifi in the room when I signed up to become a member so make sure to inquire about that if you have to pay for wifi. There was no free breakfast included - instead a restaurant buffet for $26 per person. Instead, we opted to go across the street to Dunkin Donuts and was able to feed everyone and then some for one price of $30 :) - as for dinner we walked over the little bridge and was able to go to some diners. Overall we will def come back here again

    I will start off with the negatives: When I checked into the hotel, I gave them my credit card for a card authorization which I thought from experience would be $200 maybe $300 hold, they charged $1500 (the total cost of my stay + room for incedentials) with out any warning! When I asked the person checking me in at the front desk why she wouldn’t alert me of the amount they would be charging she rudely responded “it’s on your itinerary, you should already know” and quickly challenged me to call the manager over. I’ve stayed at many hotels before, never heard of that procedure and would highly recommend training employees on how to talk to customers with less attitude. Other than that the rest of the stay was fine, the bar tender in the lobby was cool, bell hop was great, concierge was helpful, having a Starbucks in the lobby was convenient and the hotels locations to restaurants and attractions was perfect. I called the front desk and complained to the manager, since then nothing has been done. So simply out of principle I will not return to this hotel, not after the way one particular employee who works at the front desk treated me.

    Bad service for so much $
    Booked a King, when we got there they said they had none left. We got in late and we were starving. They were having a labor dispute with some of their workers. No room service available. A completely empty mini bar. Too late for the restaurant/bars to serve us food. No mention of the dimished services when we booked the room. When we mentioned this to front desk, they just shrugged and pointed us to a (poorly stocked) vending machine. We moved to the Aloft down the street, who are having the same worker dispute. They were so classy about it. Aloft desk told us what was happening, offered us extra SPG points or 25% off our first night, had some breakfast set up in the AM complimetary. Free waters, etc. Aloft handled it so well. We called the Westin to let them know how unhappy we were and what Aloft did for us, and the manager we talked to didn’t care at all, wouldn’t do a thing for us. I understand labor disputes happen, but if the customer suffers because of it, something should be done. (Also my wife has pain issues and is legally handicapped, although not in a wheelchair. Being able to order room service if she is in pain is can be very important to us).

    Great location, staff & amenities, noisy room
    Everything about this hotel was spot on great until I tried to sleep. Staff were wonderful, hotel location perfect for my needs since it was where I needed to be in the Seaport area and easy to get to with Silver line T stop a quick walk away. The lobby is beautiful, room was spacious, spotlessly clean, ample bath room space with luxurious rain shower, comfy chair where I could sit and enjoy the view, Then I tried to sleep. Shortly after I first dozed I was awakened by a man’s voice coming from a distant somewhere, dim enough that I could not make out what he was saying but loud enough to be irritating. It seemed he might be talking on the phone since I could not hear another voice. I managed to go back to sleep, wishing I’d brought ear plugs. But I continued to be awakened off and on into the early morning by this man as well as others talking in rooms around me as well as people walking around above me. The last time I looked at the clock it was 3 AM. I realize a hotel cannot be responsible for noisy guests and that it is nearly impossible to sound proof rooms. So this Is just a heads up to bring your ear plugs if you want a good night’s sleep.

    Delayed flight put us arriving at 1:30am. One staff member working the desk. He left w/out explaining anything and no one came back for almost 10 minutes though various staff entered and exited the side door. By now there are 3 groups waiting for service. Knocked on the staff door. Staff came out and in a raised voiced told me I shouldn't have knocked on the door. Staff member also grabbed my cell phone when I was going to take a pic of his nametag. Continued to speak to me in a raised voice. Room was supposed to have a roll away. It didn't. Had to get one brought up at 1:45am. Drawer to nightstand had to be propped shut as it kept opening. When I spoke to a manager about the behavior from night 1, she said it had been addressed but they couldn't do anything to compensate me as it had been booked through Expedia. I contacted Expedia who had to contact Westin. Westin denied providing any refunds and Expedia isn't either. So be wary when booking through Expedia in regards to getting compensation for problems from hotels. Would NOT recommend booking Westin due to this policy.
