Very Good8.0
Not in a nice area
Area around the hotel is run down. Pikeys in the hotel and a pikey site opposite the hotel. If your driving use the underground car park. Hotel staff were great and the rooms are clean.

An un-pleasant experience would not recomend
The experience left a lot to be desired. Arrived at 8.15 pm and did not get all problems resolved until 11.30 pm at which point our night away had been ruined. Took almost a half hour to check in as there was only one member of staff dealing with booking (the same guy was changing bed clothes an hour later). We had booked a double bed but when we entered the room there was three single beds along a wall. When we rang reception to explain that we ordered a double bed we were told there was no double beds available. The first room we were given had no handle on the inside of the toilet door, stains on the floor and lights not working. We waited a half hour for somebody to come and look at the beds to come to the conclusion that the beds needed to be pushed together... again we waited for his return. As we were unhappy with the room given to us we asked to changed to a room with a double bed like we had paid for only to be told that the hotel was fully booked and this option was not available to us. After another while waiting we were told we were moving rooms. The new room had two single beds so we asked for a double blanket, the gut who was on reception came with a king size blanket ( with two dirty stains in it) and double cover which obviously would not work but he left it there anyway. At this we asked for the duty manager as we just wanted to leave after our night away being ruined. Not enough characters but all in all a very bad experience

A pleasant surprise!
When we booked our trip, Limerick as a place we knew little about so we were very surprised to see how much it has to offer! Saint John's Cathedral and King John's Castle were amazing and we had a great time visiting Nancy Blake's Bar and the Locke Pub. Lots of friendly people and things to see. The hotel is a fair distance from the Center City so we did not get back into town to enjoy evening meals or activities but the hotel had great Irish specialty dishes we enjoyed thoroughly! It is also very close to a Tesco with great deals on lots of things for travelers.
