Awesome place and location
Everything about Peaks of Otter Lodge is awesome! Better than some chain hotels I've stayed at. Beautiful lake and mountain views, tours, and hiking trails available right from the lodge. Staff and rustic lodge are fantastic.

Stopped to relax
Nice stay. A bit pricey for what you get for one night and restaurant a bit pricey. Tried to fish the lake but limited access due to the cattail plants lining the lake. Also saw two large snakes due to the grow around the lake.

The bed was HARD and the ceiling leaked. There was a fan in the room along with air conditioner pointed at the ceiling when we checked in so they were aware of the issue.

Amazing views and wildlife !!!
Low rise lodge hotel actually on the Blue Ridge Parkway. All rooms have stunning views over a large lake. We saw black bears, rabbits, deer and hummingbirds, the fireflies put on an amazing display at dusk. Reasonably priced food and drinks at the restaurant and small gift shop. Whilst this isn’t the smartest hotel it’s absolutely amazing location makes this a must stay here! We were sorry to leave.

Nice location / no connectivity
Excellent location, very peaceful. Nice dining on the premises. One big complaint - absolutely no internet or cell phone connection.

Simple and perfect
This is a fantastic place to stay with all of the necessary amenities, a beautiful view, and clean and comfortable rooms (and great AC). The wifi is just strong enough to check email, text, and get directions to your next stop (or hike). The best part of the rooms is really the incredible view to sit and take in the beautiful scenery. I do wish there was a fridge in the room, but other than this, this hotel was one of my favorites during my 3 week long travels through the national parks.
