Very good 8.0
Overall stay was great. Nice clean large oom, comfortable beds and the like. Two things keep me from giving this facility a higher rating. #1 Pool was so highly chlorinated that my son experienced extreme eye irritation for a period of 24+ hours. There were no warnings or cautions in place warning users to wear goggles. #2 Elevator doors close fast and hard. Watched people, including children, come close to being trapped in doors.

In Case of Fire, Don't Stay Here
This hotel is top notch, except that we happened to experienced a fire alarm and I realized just how unprepared they are for such an emergency. My husband and child went fishing that morning and we were tired when we got back so we all fell asleep mid-day. I am a very light sleeper, but my family are very deep sleepers. I woke up because all of the sounds in the room went quiet, I heard people talking in the hallways, and doors opening and shutting. I opened our door and finally heard a faint alarm coming from the stairwells, but not in the hallways, and a calm male voice that did not carry into rooms that "There is an emergency in the building. Please evacuate the building." I yanked my family out of their beds and we all took the stairs down 10 floors, just to see people milling about in front of the building and people standing out on their balconies who probably couldn't hear the alarm either. It turns out, a transformer had been hit by a car and knocked out the power, which triggered the alarm. If this had been a real emergency, my family would have died. The hotel needs to rethink their alarm system. Everything else about our stay was wonderful. I know this was a rare occurrence, but I cannot recommend this hotel unless they change their Fire alert system.

Poor 2.0
Great Name Hotel Only
This hotel offered the most disappointing experience for me and the wife. The first day after one night stay we had to ask 3 different times for our room to be cleaned. It finally got cleaned at 8:00PM where we had to wait in the lobby of the hotel. Prior to this we had been visited by 2 cleaning staff members one saying it was not his room but would come back at 1:00PM and another say they would com back at 4:00PM. This did not happen. We have given a manager and the front desk times we would be out of the room to clean but that did not happen. They stated that we had to tell them when exactly we were out to the room. It appears that the front desk and the room cleaning staff are not working together as a team. It shows. We are seniors and this is too much work to relax. We had ask for at least a refund for the first night misery but they could not do it because we had booked and paid thru Travelocity. However, I am suppose to get 10k point instead for the SPG awards program. This is not what we wanted. This trip was to provide us a rest after Thanksgiving and Christmas events and family visits but it provided a nightmare. Not more Westin for us!

Visiting my Marine
The Parking was confusing and should be stated on the website where to park. Checking in was fast... the room had smeared paint on wall from where they painted the ceiling, the lightbulb was out in the bathroom and I called twice in my four days of being there about it and nothing was done. The closet had someone's dirty underwear and socks in it from a previous stay. I called about that too. Gross. I asked if there is housekeeping eceryday and she replied yes .. well they missed a few things. I ordered a strawberry shortcake from room service. It gets there and it's 4 slices of dried up pound cake with a few berries and melted canned whipped cream. Yes and for the bargain price of $14.83. I also asked for a candle in it for my sons birthday and that was not on it either. Very disappointed in my stay here. My son is getting deployed and this was a trip to see him before he leaves. The only positive is the lobby is nice and th location great. The room not so much. The front desk staff should also say hello to you when you come in. Not just look at you ..,

Definite great hotel but....
Nothing bad to say. Higher standard, luxury establishment in many ways but... ... TOO MANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES!!!! For such a hotel and this standard at the rate they are charging, many of their additionals is just plain ridiculous. Either you assume the standard of luxury, reflect it in your rate and provide a luxury service OR you don't and you create a rip off hotel that charges people walking by for taking a peek inside! The amenities, the service, the staff, etc... everything was great except too many extras. I am thinking of the average budget people who may take advantage of a "deal" from a third party and think they will enjoy a luxury experience. They will end up spending more money than expected or feeling out of place for not being able to enjoy/afford all that this hotel has to offer because of the additional charges for it. To the management, please think about it, define the line of hotel you want to be and do it! You will be much more successful.
