4.5-star motel with full-service spa, connected to a shopping center, near Hunter Valley Gardens
The hotel ground is quite beautiful and peaceful. Room looks a bit small or 4 of us…

Not good at all. Very run down and old property. No maintenance and inefficient staff.

Staff were lovely & friendly, but the property does not live up to the Mercure name. It is dated & tired looking - definitely priced on the high end for the amenities available in the room.

Wouldn't recommend the breakfast. Over priced a la carte pre cooked buffet food

The room was clean and had a reasonable view. The guests in the room next door were incredibly loud until 1:00am. We asked to change rooms and were able to but there was some miscommunication and another guest was given the access to our room and walked in. Some of the facilities were closed due to COVID and this wasn’t very well communicated either.

The location was central to a few good spots around.... walking distance to hunter valley gardens and the infamous harrigans pub... roche estate across the road with awesome pizza from goldfish...hope estate a short walk as well... rooms could do with an update but the style is keeping up with the overall property design...

Comfortable bed, great staff. We were given an accessible room so some of my gripes might be specific to that, but because there was no lip into the shower water went everywhere. The exhaust in the bathroom also wasn't great so it stayed steamy for a while and there were a number of cracks in the walls/grout etc. This was true for the bathroom and the bedroom. However, overall it was really comfortable and convenient and I would stay there again. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. Dinner was so delicious and the waitress that served us was great. Breakfast was average and so was the service that day. We used the pool as well, that was lovely. Check-in staff were helpful, organised and informative.

At Check in we advised Mercure recepton that we had paid already, however they advised they had no record of payment, so wanted us to pay again for two rooms.( when checking out advised they had received payment in advance). Also at check in I asked them to check my Accor membership to confirm if we got Accor benefits if we ate at their restaurants, they advised they would check and advise me, the next morning i checked again with reception as i wanted to take the family for breakfast i was advised yes you would. After I Had breakfast at resteraunt I was told no discount. Would be good if the information they provide is accurate asaand timely as we could then decide what we want to do. Service was average at best and seemed not to be intetested in their guests.
