Good location, good value for money.
Great location to access the CBD, good on site parking and despite the renovations going on, it was quiet. The only issue was that the wifi seemed to have poor coverage within the hotel. There was a comfortable bar area to sit in which did have good wifi! Overall, good value for money. I found the reception staff to be very helpful.

I might look better after renovation !
The Armitage has a new owner and is currently under renovation. The room as such is not bad and spacious, however the bathroom is another matter. The bathroom is tiny, it contains a shower and a toilet. Between the bathroom and the bedroom is a wall behind which is a hand basin and a vanity, it looks as if this was an afterthought when the hotel was build. The corridor carpet looked worn in places with occasional holes in it !

How an experience can make or break
I think this is my fourth or fifth time I’ve stayed at the Armitage Hotel . And generally I must say whilst the building is way over due for some love and attention the stay is good . This time it was weird !! I know we live in a time of covid and uncertainty but come on. They wouldn’t service my room because of covid . I had family arrive today see me but weren’t allowed up to my room as it was just after 8pm and the hotel rules dictated no visitors after 8pm It wasn’t a pleasant experience and frankly no matter how much or little you pay per night experience is everything. SO I think unless you’re desperate best avoid staying here till they sort themselves out .

Good location & handy open-air parking/AC in the room, friendly & professional staff but they are strict with enforcing the ridiculous hotel policy rules when my cousin visited during the afternoon, reception rung and he had to go see them and sign in immediately, also I was told no one was to visit my room after 8 pm, I am in my 50's a regular guest, and work in the Real Estate industry, I am very aware to keep the noise down and not cause any disruption to other guests. I don't appreciate being treated like a child, so I won't stay at this hotel again.
