I will never go back to Hotel Odessa, as long as the new management is in charge!
More than two years ago, before the pandemic, I made a reservation for five nights. Covid arrived and I had to change my travel dates, quite a few times. The airline changed my ticket without any problems. Hotel Odessa did the same thing but after 18 months, or 24 months, they said that they can no longer change the dates. I told them I understood their position and that I do not mind losing more than $500.00. I really felt that small businesses needed help and I actually felt good supporting this hotel.
Then, once my travel dates were finalized I made another reservation and paid for another five-night stay. I was supposed to arrive in the evening of August 6. Once again the airline changed my ticket and instead of the evening of August 6, I arrived in the morning of August 7. I wrote to the hotel and told them about this minor change. They wrote back and said that everything was fine. I arrived on August 7, at about 9:00 AM and they told me that they had rented my room and that it won’t be ready before 12:30 PM! I thought that they were going to give me credit for the night of August 6 but they said No! And they kept saying that this is totally legal! I had to go to a restaurant to use the bathroom and I missed an important meeting that I had scheduled for that morning. I missed the meeting because his hotel wanted to milk me for an extra 100 dollars. I will never stay at this hotel again.
