Nice, clean hotel with friendly staff. However, a few words of caution. If you check-in before your room is ready, do not leave breakables with your luggage in bag check. We left a two extra bags with wine bottles and a few souvenirs with our luggage. When our room was ready, we returned to find our hand painted bottle of limoncello from an hour away was shattered in its bag. All the staff said was “one of your bags was dropped and one of the glass bottles broke. We don’t know which one”. When we saw very obviously it was the limoncello, they said “sorry” and end of discussion. Second recommendation is to pay the hotel tax when you check-out. We paid when we checked-in to make the process easier when we checked-out early the next morning. However, when we checked-out, there was “no record” of us paying early. We showed the staff member the charge on our bank account app but because we did not have the receipt on us, he would not let us leave until we paid again. Therefore, we were charged the room tax for a second time.
All in all, the initial check-in process and staff were lovely and very helpful when asked recommendations around the city and even provided a map. The rooms were clean and there is AC. (Not to American’s standards but significantly better than not having one in the summer). Without the bottle breaking with little apology and the double charge, we probably would have stayed again. But because of our personal experience, we will not be returning.
