We went for a wedding but found the hotel location ideal for exploring the old town by foot and further afield by using the tram and trolleybus stops. Temperature difference between outside and in our room was about 30 degrees, hence only 4/5 for comfort, so if you like a warm room you'll be OK. Breakfast in the hotel was plentiful and of good quality although space was at a premium some mornings we always managed to get a seat. Local main meal prices varied between 5 euro just up the road and 72 euro (YES 72 Euro) in the Old Town so watch out. We left when offered a menu with those prices. Tallinn Old Town is a tourist trap but you can survive on a budget with a little care and by walking just a few hundred metres Local transport is easily accessed from the hotel and excellent value but can be bumpy. Buy a travel card from the Post Offices for just 3 Euro unlimited travel a day. Multiple days also available. Roads and footpaths are rough so if you struggle with uneven surfaces or steep roads please consider somewhere else. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful Would we go to Tallinn again? Definitely not in winter, possibly in the summer but not a definite Yes. If ever we did go then we would like to stay at Old Town Maestros again

Excellent location, helpful gal at check in, room very nice. Breakfast room overcrowded at 9am and gal at check out had an attitude. On day of departure I came downstairs at 5:30am for my cab to the airport for an early morning flight. The cab was set for 6am so I asked her to call if it can come earlier, she did and then later told me the cab cannot come to the front of the hotel until 6am, so I asked her to change it back to 6am. since I was not informed of that fact when she changed it. I was told she "never had such a difficult person." I explained I was 76 yrs old will a big suitcase and severe arthritis in my knees and did not wish to pull my suitcase over cobblestoned streets to a taxi stop. It was an unpleasant ending to what had been a nice stay, hence my mediocre rating. Did not get her name but she had short dark hair, young,

A good hotel
The room is very big. But it doesn't have air conditioning, which may be normal in European countries. Thus you need to open the windows. It then makes you worry about the security as the building is too short n other people are easy to climb in. They don't provide bottle water or heater neither. The receptionist said it's because the tap water is drinkable. But when I searched information from the web. Some said in Estonia tap water is drinkable while some formal researches, eg the one by UK in 2016, showed it is not the case. One thing they should improve is that the carpet inside the room is dirty. Large strains were found. - The restaurant provides breakfast. It was small but eating there gave me good n warm feeling as the style of the restaurant is that European kind.

Very average with nothing in particular to commend it. Not built for excessive comfort or convenience - both the stairs and the tiny lift posed challenges. Breakfast was limited in appeal with few choices all of which were repeated daily during my stay. Room was clean and spacious and the bed reasonably comfortable but furnishings were tired and in need of upgrading. The television could only access three channels which was disappointing. Saving factor was its position close to the old town hub and in easy walking distance to Solaris shopping mall. Given the plethora of choice in and around Tallinn, I would recommend looking around before settling on the Maestro.

Location was excellent. The room was clean but did not provide bathroom toiletries as advertised. Also as advertised there was no lobby bar - just a couple of chairs with what looked like miniatures behind the reception desk. Also no coffee lounge, and when I asked for a cup of tea I was asked if I had a teabag and was given a cup of hot water to take to my room and add my own teabag. They ran out of English breakfast tea bags after I had been for just one day and they were never supplied again. The breakfast was OK but was the same every day.
