Title: Small room, great stay. We’d happily come back
My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at the Premier Inn London Clerkenwell. On the map it looked a bit far from King’s Cross, but there’s a bus that gets you there in about five stops, and it drops you off almost right in front of the hotel. That made getting around easy.
Check-in was smooth. There’s a self-check-in option, but we had to go through the main counter, and it didn’t take any longer.
We felt very safe here. You need your key card to reach the elevator area, and again to get into the room corridor, so nobody can just wander in.
We knew the room would be small, and it was. The bed is pushed up against the wall, so whoever sleeps on that side has to climb around if they get up in the middle of the night. Other than that, everything was neat, clean and well organized. There’s a small spot to hang clothes with a few hangers, and the bathroom is surprisingly spacious for the size of the room.
The staff were friendly, and the breakfast is delicious. You don’t have to add it to your booking. You can just pay for it on the days you want it. That worked well for us, since we left at 6 a.m. on our last day, before breakfast service had started.
The bar looked popular too, with lots of people enjoying happy hour drinks. The decor is nice and the whole hotel feels very clean.
We’d definitely recommend it, and we’ll consider staying here again next time we’re in London.
