Radisson Blu PE
Good day to begin with, I was given a room where the basin was damaged, the water hole would not open for the water to go down the drain, the telephone was not working, therefore you could not call reception, the tv reception was distorted. They responded by stating that they would send a maintenance to sort the issues out, we waited from 15h00 to 19h00 for the maintenance guy taking into consideration that we could not use the basin as a pool would have been created considering the drain hole wouldn't open. We must for an upgrade and was put into a bigger and better room only for the TV remote not to work. That was sorted eventually.

Location, location, location
The hotel is across the street from endless beach, walking trails, and close to a local strip mall with a great breakfast place and 5 minutes' walk away from de Kelder, a top restaurant in P.E. The hotel has a small gym and small pool that are both clean and functional. The restaurant serves excellent food. Room service is quick and not overpriced. Staff are friendly and quick to address any of your needs. The bar adjoins the restaurant and there is a patio with ocean views. All rooms have an ocean view and one wall is floor to ceiling window. Amazing! There is also an airport shuttle service for about $5 USD per person.

Comfortable stay - after initial disappointment.
Upon arrival there was not a bed for my 10yr old child. When I informed reception about this they tools me that I should pay for a different room that can accommodate us. Only upon asking for and speaking to the manager was my problem resolved with an additional kiddies bed being moved to my room - albeit quite a while that I’ve had to wait for it.

Definitely NOT 5 Stars
I have stayed at this hotel a couple of time over the last 7 years and have noticed it’s rapid decline in service, cleanliness and the general conditions of this so called 5 star hotel. I was allocated a room type I had not booked and paid for. When I complained I was told sorry, but they were full and I would have to stay there for the night and move tomorrow. On my bill this was the most expensive night of the 4 I had booked and I was not allocated the room I booked. The room had twin beds, the remote had no backing so the battery kept falling out. The toilet roll handle was falling off the wall. No hand towels or face cloths. The water in the shower took 5 mins to get hot and the room was opposite the service elevator so was noisy with staff entering and exiting all night. I was moved the next day to a room type I had paid for. The room and view was ‘better’... but, the shower was only boiling hot or freezing cold, the room attendant packed away ALL my toiletries into my personal toiletry bag everyday and into small pockets I keep private things... this was very weird. I have never experienced this in ANY hotel anywhere in the world. Privacy??? My biggest irritation... the WIFI was horrendous. You could not stream Netflix never mind download a document for work. When I complained I was told the IT guy knows but there’s nothing to be done.... 5 star??? Oh please. I would avoid the Raddison Blu at all costs. This is not a 5 star hotel or experience. Moving on...

Low hygiene and cleanliness standards.
For what was so far a wonderful holiday in South Africa this was the last hotel booked for a 4 night stay close to the beach. Totally disappointed with the hygiene and cleanliness standards, pillows stained, dirty towels left on the floor just folded and put back on rails, Wash rooms never cleaned properly. Seems a low standards and obvious laziness of staff is maintained by management and surprised the hotel chain is allowing it. Definitely shouldn’t be rated as 4* Buffet breakfast food uncovered had numerous flies and no effort by staff to cover or attempt to stop flies from sitting on the buffet food. Needless to say despite having paid for breakfast we ate out every day. Wanted to move too but due to Xmas hols there was no good hotel availability nearby. The only saving grace were the concierge team who recommended and booked us some wonderful restaurants.
