Cleveland Thermal Motel, Rotorua, New Zealand

The owners of the motel went out of their way to make us welcome and to give us tips about the local area This was a good area to visit and there is plenty to do in the town We walked in it took about half an hour via the thermal park but it could easily be driven The accommodation is clean to be fair the kitchen and bathroom could be upgraded but as a base it was fine The pool is great for an early or late swim and big enough to swim in which is a bonus Our only comment would be the room catches the morning sun but there is only one seat outside so a table and another chair would be lovely

Lovely family motel in central Rotorua. Whilst it is abit worn with age the rooms were very clean and the beds one of the most comfortable we slept on. We had a room with queen and 3 single beds and all loved them. The heated pool and mineral spas are great and the owners are charming hosts. Only one slight critisism was having to pay $2 each for pool towel. Thats a first and we travel alot overseas but it may be a Rotorua thing I hadnt encountered before due to the thermal waters. We will stay there again as definately a cosy friendly and clean spot especially in winter.

Liked this Motel. We had a one bedroom with kitchen area and bathroom. It was clean and comfortable but some things like the sofa and coffee table could be updated. Michelle was really nice and helpful when we checked in. The laundry room was very useful and easy to use. The Motel is in a good location, close to the lake, a geothermal park and the town centre. Across the road to the left is a tatty Chinese takeaway but does lovely fish and chips. Also across the road a fruit shop, bakery and petrol station. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.

Our studio was generously sized, with separate bedroom, kitchen, and living room. The bed was comfortable; however, the shower curtain in the bathroom wasn't long enough so the water would run out on the tile, and then into a space between the tile and baseboard. Long term, this looks like it could damage the under flooring. Overall, we liked the motel and area well enough to stay another night. Unfortunately, we didn't book the extra night through Hotels.com and ended up being charged $25 more than we had paid on Hotels.com.

Very Helpful owners. They definitely wanted you to feel at home on your travels, and went out of their way to do that. The beds are amazing!!! They said they are redoing the inside of all the rooms, ours was a little outdated, but still livable for the two nights my friend and I stayed. Would love to go back and stay in that comfortable bed, in one of the newer rooms in the future. Would love to recommend this place to anyone needing a place to stay in Rotorua, NZ
