Great location, but basic amenities
Botel is great for its novelty and location. However, it is very basic and very small. It has become tradition to stay at least one night for nostalgic reasons, but there are other hotels in the area that are much nicer, cleaner and bigger. There is a reason they don’t have photos of the rooms on their website.

Comfortable stay
The hotel was easy to get to just a short ferry ride from Amsterdam Central Station. The room was suitable for our needs as a budget traveler. The room was clean and daily housekeeping was good. Overall we had a comfortable stay and thought it was quite a fun and different experience to stay on a boat.

Fair 4.0
We visit Amsterdam very year and are currently staying at the Botel.. The one benefit is the close proximity and free boat to Central Station. The hotel charges 12.50€ for a breakfast - We tried this option as we seen many reviews but wanted to experience it ourselves. It resulted - Definitely not worth 12.50€pp. Rooms - The room was clean and beds are made each day but

The Botel is at a great location. Just a 2 minute walk to the ferry. Hotel staff was very friendly, and our room was very comfortable, and clean. My only complaint is that is says it is a non smoking hotel, and every night the smell of smoke coming from our neighboring rooms was nauseating.
