This hotel is highly overrated. Ratings are purely based on its location. The rooms are small and extremely basic. We had small bathroom with leaking toilet. Staff is totally overworked and exploited and thus tend to look and act that way. Can only buy water at the incredibly overpriced bar restaurant food and breakfast overpriced and mediocre at best.

Two nights stay
Very friendly and professional staff. Beautiful location. Special thanks to Ivan and Ircu! Very good breakfast. Restaurant is good especially given its remote location. I would recommend to rent a car as the hotel is not served by public transportation frequently. May not be the best location to hike to the base of Torres de Paine, trail head is about one hr drive away.

Beautiful view of the grey glacier! Rooms could use slight updating and deep clean. There were smashed bugs on our wall and in the bathroom. Overall beautiful property.

6/10 Good

I tried to get help with transportation from Puerto Natales but they just sent their main link with no help. It is a gravel road on/off 2 hours to get there. A private taxi is over $100 USD 1 way and the public bus only runs once early in the morning or once at night. We learned most people rent a car. I learned through networking that there may be a shared shuttle but not sure how to find it and hotel will not help. Not all rooms have the amazing view, some just to another building or greenery. They are simple rooms but effective and warm, good pillows with TV. It is all the basics. There is no spa or sundry store, you must walk/drive down to a mini mart that is separate but not far. If you want Hotel Lago Grey souvenirs get them there because they are not in Puerto Natales. Great cappuccino machine in bar area and decent meals. Only place to eat so either bring your own food or plan on having all your meals there, which are pricey. You must ask a lot of questions regarding tours, timing, etc it is not efficient. However, the guides on the tours are great and helpful!

8/10 Very good

The hotel was in a good location, just a short drive down to the trailhead where you can hike down to the beach where you can view the Grey Glacier and any icebergs that have calved off the glacier, and also where you can hike up to Mirador Ferrier. If you are planning to continue your trip into the park, you can take a one way boat ride to the other side of Lago Grey. I was generally satisfied with my stay, and the service was excellent from the reception as well as the restaurant/bar. However, in the room, the power sockets are placed behind the bed, so I had to shift the bed away from the wall in order to access power. Also, although you see beautiful pictures of the glaciers in the photos provided by the hotel, the view I got from my room was of a tree and other buildings. I think only the rooms on the higher floors in the newer block get the view, and in any event the glacier and the lake are quite far from the hotel so don't expect to get a close up view from your room.

Worth every penny for the view from the bar, restaurant, and the bedrooms. Incredible. The room was large, clean, had a great view, good heating, and great bathroom including lots of hot water. Food was good - both bar and restaurant - and the tours were excellent. In terms of the offered tours, we hiked up to the base of the Torres with my friend and our guide Felipe, who was excellent. The glacier cruise is brilliant, and includes free pisco sour. On our final day we did a tour of the main waterfalls and sights around the Massif - again led by Felipe. I thought this would be mildly diverting - it was actually seriously good, great to see some of the less well-known parts of the park that are equally stunning. Also to get up close with the vast amount of wildlife that’s hanging around. At lunch (the packed lunches the hotel provides are substantial) Felipe also produced bottles of wine and beers. While the tours aren’t cheap, you don’t get a cheap experience - they make you feel it’s worthwhile. Staying at this hotel was absolutely the right decision. Can’t wait to come back.

Amazing location. It’s the second time we’ve stayed here and this time it was for my birthday and they made that really special. We stayed in room 911 (excellent room number) and it had such a fantastic view. We were greeted by a view of an iceberg that had to be several stories high gleaming blue on the grey Lago with the glacier grey in the background. Amazing. Good food and yummy pisco sours! I only wish we hadn’t split up our hotels (two days in one place in TDP and two days in another) because I’d love to still be staying there and have that view. However, when in TDP you shouldn’t spend much time in your room because you’ve got to get out and explore!
