Good place to stay for the night. Basic room, washroom is a bit small. Dinner at the restaurant was good. Would be good to have a luggage rack.

Great stay!
It was a really great stay for 2 nights although the weather was bad, my husband and I really enjoyed it! Room was clean and cozy, the location is nice to access to tracks, the meal in restaurant were so good. Definitely we'll visit again!

The Skotel is extremely good value, except that we had to abandon our hike (due to one of our group discovering he had been a close contact of someone who had contracted Omicron) and had to cancel our second night, in the Skotel, with no refund.

Great value for money.
The onsite restaurant has really tasty food, even for vegans, so it is highly recommended! The views on the veranda are incredible. We booked a small onsuite room and it was next to the kitchen so it was a bit noisy at times but not deep into the night. The spa tube was very helpful after a long walk on Tongariro. Highly recommend booking it :-) There’s a small fridge, hot water jug etc in the room so it was handy if you didn’t want to sit in the kitchen. It is great value for money. Highly recommended!

Beautiful room right in front of Ngauruhoe. Clean and the food at the restaurant is so yummy! Plus they allow you to take it back to your room. Would love to go back again one day.
