great stay!
It was great! Perfect location in the heart of the city center. It’s like a home with a bunch of bedrooms, kitchen, and two very small bathrooms. But it was great for the price!!

Poor 2.0
Terrible if you expect a good nights rest
We booked this as a part business trip and part leisure trip. When we arrived after a long day on the Saturday night we were given room 2 which was nothing like the pictures you see its looking a little old and we noticed a door partition right next to the beds, but we thought as long as we get a good nights stay that will make up for it as we were booked onto a tour the next morning and had to be up for 0700, How wrong was! We experienced a lot of noise from what sounded like a lot of people so I got out of bed to see and found around 30 people all drinking and making a real noise I asked them to please would you mind keeping the noise down a little as we were trying to sleep but they chose to ignore us once again I got up and this time they seemed to be above us so I went upstairs and asked again but it fell on deaf ears, we were so tired after getting very little sleep and the next day the Sunday we again had to be up early and we so tired but this time the noise was from the room next to us where the partition is, which I am told is the duty managers room. I couldn't wait to get out of this guesthouse it spoil the whole trip the one thing you need is a good night sleep, I think it fair to also mention the old room with water seeping in wetting the floor next to the windows.I am so disappointed as we have asked both Hotel.com and the Guesthouse to explain or comeback to us about our complain Hotel.com said they couldn't help and the Guesthouse has just ignored us.

Awesome place to stay, very centrally located! A clean place all around, quiet, and well kept. Easy check in and check out process, overall would recommend!

Great Views, Relaxed Atmosphere.
Perfect location. Perfect price. The perfect place for my solo travels in Iceland. In the heart of the city center with the best views in town. If you are bougie on a budget, don’t go to a hostel, go to a guest house. Thor Guesthouse.

Thor!
Super nice, clean, friendly. Small-ish room but great view. In house manager very friendly and super helpful! Super location!

Good 6.0
Expensive for an average place
Unattended reception caused delay and quick internet searching to get somebody. Tiny lift from floor 1 to floor 3 to take you to floor 4, so some luggage lugging up stairs required. Good location and views from hotel room. Pot luck if you got a big room or smaller one. Expensive for a hostel guesthouse

Very good 8.0
Economical and nicely located
Locations is amazing: it is in a walking distance to practically everything. It is also close to a bus stop where a lot of tour companies do pickups. The hosts are very nice and friendly. However, when I booked it, I did not realize it was shared bathrooms. Also, there is only one towel per person provided, so if you are peculiar about your towels, I would recommend to bring some with you. The bathrooms were clean and tidy. They also have two kitchens (the guesthouse takes two floors), a nice sitting area, a balcony. The walls were a bit thin, you can hear all that your neighbors are doing. It could be difficult for a sound sleeper. Nonetheless, I thought it was a pretty good place to stay.

Love the Location and the Kitchen
Loved the location so much that we didn't mind the walk to park the car. Weekends and after 6 pm parking on street outside was free. Remainder of time, we had free parking in the lot adjacent to Hallgrimskirkja. It is an easy walk past shops and restaurants, all within the shadow of the church, quite a breathtaking experience. It is also an easy walk in the opposite direction to get to historical downtown with the harbor, pond, museums, and (once again) nice restaurants. Thor Guesthouse is between a hotel and a hostel. Proprietor took good care of us in regard to telling us where to go and what to see. The property sits on a triangular corner, with a kitchen on every floor having big windows on three sides. Great view for eating morning breakfast and relaxing at other times. Friendly folks were staying there, so enjoyed our conversations with other travelers while hanging out in fully equipped kitchen. Also, there was a washing machine complete with supple of detergents. Proprietor offered to put our clothes in the dryer, but I prefer the European style of using the drying rack provide. No charge! The number of shared showers and WC's adequate and clean, but they did have the "Reykjavik" smell of sulfur in the water.

Awesome location. Good amenities. Cramped room
Facility is nice and location is perfect. There is access to a couple different kitchens and the balcony view of the church is cool. The location doesn't get better. Close to bars and attractions. We had to share a washroom but really with only one other room. The only downside was the room was cramped.
