not what I was expecting...
I love Hyatt hotels so it’s very disappointing that I have to give this specific one a bad rating ...I have stayed in multiple locations ..Hyatt hotels is my go to option when ever I have to get a hotel but the one at va beach was awful the room I got was partially clean on top of my room being ready after the check in time so you would think that the room would be extra clean for the time I waited to have the room ready there also only providing one car to get parked at there lot would have been nice if they had a warning message on the site That indicates that ... staff was very friendly so I did appreciate that but having the room not clean, checking in past their check in time due to the rooms not being ready the issue that u can only have one car parked for room and at check out I had called previously to have my car ready and waited about 30 min after I had called to get my car the trip was more stressful then relaxing

Beautiful View!
This was a surprise for my husband for Father's Day. The view was amazing of the beach, the staff was very friendly. The stay was overall great. The only 2 things I would mention is the "shared" balcony an the tv position. When you go out on the balcony there is a partition between you and the guest in the next room. You can hear their conversations-which makes it a little awkward. We had very nice neighbors, so it was okay. The second thing is that the room we had, they literally had a shelf and tv sitting in the middle of the room. It is almost like they revamped the rooms to add the kitchen area (which is very nice) but had to move an area for the drawers and tv somewhere else, so they just put it in the middle of the room. Anyways, I wish I would have known these things before booking, but like I said, we had a great time and it was such a beautiful view that these things didn't matter too much.

Nope
I was very disappointed in my recent stay at this Hyatt. I booked one of the nicest hotels on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, but should have stayed in a much cheaper place. I understand COVID has affected life, however the hotel shouldn’t open if they can’t provide basic service. Upon checkin we were told there would be no pool or gym. Awesome, we were expecting that. We were told to call the lobby when we needed towels or trash removal and they would be sent up. Nope. We did that, however the garbage for everyone on our floor along with soiled towels sat in the hall for 3 days. We had to get our own towels from the lobby, a mix of pool and bath towels. But, with only one person working at any given time, it was always a wait. Once the garbage was removed from the hall, they took our entire trash can and never returned it. The hall was never vacuumed and someone’s press on nails ended up scattered on floors 5 & 6 for the duration of our stay. The sheets were on the bed inside out. Which isn’t a big deal, but, attention to detail when staying at a Hyatt should be expected. I honestly don’t think they had the staff (valet one guy, desk one employee, never saw a housekeeper) of facilities to open, so, they probably should have delayed it a little longer. I paid for breakfast which was a bag with a granola bar and a bottle of water, but the restaurant and bar were open? I will say the employees we encountered were lovely and the facility was probably awesome Pre-COVID.

Not very accommodating
I requested a lower floor, they said they couldn’t because of the length of cleaning between stays with covid but when I asked to stay an extra night, they said no because they had someone else checking in at 4!! I needed a shower and they let me use the pool shower and I had to get dressed and I dressed in the hallway in front of the picture window with a blind that I could see directly out of in the front where everyone was pulling in. and there was barely any water flow coming out of the shower. Didn’t asking me if I needed any towels and there was not a light. Our hotel shower had a ton of sand in it from the previous person and there was sand on the carpet also.

My experience
(1) I bet their house keeping didn't bother to change the bed sheets for both beds in the room eventhough I put in writing request when I was making the reservation on your website. I smelled woman's perfume on the bed sheets and hairs were all over on the bed. The other bed smelled like the previous guest was smoking cigarettes on the bed. I went to the check in counter at the first floor and told them the conditions, the gentleman gave me some sheets including pillow covers and I had to change them by myself. (2) The breakfast was very disappointed: two pieces of supermarket type doughnuts along with a small cup of orange juice, yogurt, breakfast bar and an small apple same thing every morning.

Weekend Trip
Loved the location, the front desk staff and the key-card entry to the appropriate floor in the hotel. That was extra security for us. What I didn't realize and didn't care for was the valet parking. I didn't realize that was an additional $20/night, making this not as great of a deal as others I looked at. If we go back, we will pay to leave our vehicle in the parking deck (only 3 blocks down and $10/night).

Very nice, enjoyable stay
Great two-night stay at this hotel. I needed a change of scenery so decided to spend a couple of days in Virginia Beach. My top floor studio suite was spacious, and I liked the separate living room area, because my daughter was with me, and she's a late sleeper and I'm a morning person. So, it was nice to be able to get up in the morning and sit in the living room area and not disturb her. The staff was friendly; the grab-and-go breakfast in the morning was about as good as you can expect in these current circumstances. I also like that this hotel is pet friendly. Will definitely consider staying here again.
