Expected cheap and cheerful at the price point but even so, very disappointed. Messaged in advance to ask about vegan breakfast options and had no reply. When asking on arrival was told the bread is vegan...we didn't bother checking it out in the morning.
There did appear to be only one member of staff on to serve the bar, restaurant, and guests checking in so appreciate she was very busy.
Mattress and pillows incredibly bad, could feel each spring in the mattress and pillows were rock hard. Room hadn't been dusted, thick layer on top of wardrobe. Toilet cistern takes 10 minutes to refill after a flush so sat listening to that fill up for ages after each use. No power point anywhere near the kettle so had to plug that in on the other side of the room to the tea station. Shower was okay at least, though rather weak. Quite noisy until 11ish with the bar downstairs but we expected that so not a complaint.
Perhaps the other rooms are better, other reviews don't seem to have had the same problems. We did go for the cheapest option but the least you expect is a reasonably comfortable sleep and an operational toilet. Love that it's community owned but wouldn't stay again.
