The location deserves five stars. Peaceful, beautiful views and a lovely place to relax.
The villa itself... not quite so much. Walking through the front door was a bit like stepping into an 80s time capsule. If vintage décor and furniture that's seen better days is your thing, you'll love it! The beds were also incredibly hard and uncomfortable.
Outside, the grounds could really do with some TLC. There was grass growing out of the drains around the pool and loose paving slabs that sprang up and caught my 5-year-old foot, causing her to trip.
The swimming pool also left us questioning its cleanliness. The water was quite murky, and you couldn't see the bottom. Both of my children developed what appeared to be an allergic skin reaction after using the pool. They both swim two times a week at home in different pools and have never had a reaction before!
The kitchen was very under-equipped. Very few plates, no bowls, and the greatest holiday tragedy of all, no corkscrew, meaning we couldn't enjoy the local wine we'd bought!
While the place was clean when we arrived, yhe previous guests' washing-up had been left on the draining board and there wasn't a sponge or cloth provided to wash up ourselves or wipe down the worktops.
