The room was very spacious, clean and new. Design was very modern. The restaurant/rooftop bar has a nice view overlooking the Bow River.

Good stay

All good except the room needed fold up table to open suitcases .. We had to use the floor.

Decor was on point. Kitchenette room with a family was clutch. Great walkability. Floor by the elevators on 12 floor is luxury vinyl tile and is bowed creaks should likely be fixed. Seems to be close to a fire station so bring ear plugs just in case. We were there around Canada Day and Stampede so may not have been usual noise level.

There was no onsite parking and valet cost $50. It made it either inconvenient or expensive to drive there.

Brand new gem in Downtown Calgary.

The hotel only opened on the day I arrived. I was the first guest to stay in my room, so it was spotless and first-class. Good facilities, great location and lovely staff members. Sure, there were a few teething problems, but they were resolved quickly. I didn't have breakfast, so I cannot comment on that. Valet parking was okay, but a bit slow at peak hours, so we parked over the road easily.

Modern comfort in downtown Calgary

I was able to check-in early, which is always a bonus, and was upgraded to a room with a "view". Admittedly, the view wasn't great (I could see some trees in between two apartment buildings), but the room was spacious, comfortable, clean. I would have liked a place by the door to hang my jacket and purse, but otherwise, I didn't lack for anything. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location makes access to various parts of the city easy either by walking or (nearby) public transportation. The one criticism has nothing to do with the hotel. The figure hotels.com quoted did not include the following taxes, Alberta Tourism Levy and Destination Marketing Fund (which is a DAILY charge), so I paid almost $40CAD more than the quoted price.

6/10 Good

Valet parking only which is not accessible 24/7. No access to car overnight. Valet attendant went over and above to find solution to issue. Called ahead of time to determine parking as I was expecting to check in to hotel in late evening. I was told valet only but failed to let you know car is inaccessible after 11 pm Several issues with key access in elevators. Required room card to be reprogrammed as card failed when we were on top floor which thankfully another guest was able to help with The card failure seemed to be specific to elevator. The hotel itself is clean and fresh. We paid over 500 for the hotel and the stay unfortunately did not meet expectations

I really enjoyed my two-night stay — the room itself was great and I was super happy with it. The only thing I noticed was that no one came in to tidy up during my stay. I was out all day both nights and came back to the room expecting it might be refreshed, but it wasn’t. Not sure if it was just due to staffing or how busy it was during Stampede weekend, but that was the only thing that stood out. Luckily it was just me, so I had enough towels and could’ve called if I needed more — it wasn’t a big deal, just something I expected. Also, I loved the free breakfast — it was actually really good. But I honestly felt kind of uncomfortable while I was eating. It just felt like staff were hovering or keeping watch, and it threw off the vibe. There were a few standing in the corners or just kind of placed around the room like security, and it made it hard to actually relax and enjoy my food. I get they’re probably just doing their job, but it did feel a bit much.

6/10 Good

Not ready, but might be good when it is

The good first: the staff were great and the rooms were large for a city centre location. The hotel opened the day we checked in and it just wasn't ready. I think they had rushed to open before the Stampede and a major convention. The air conditioning broke down on day two of our stay and didn't come back until day six. The front desk were very apologetic but had no idea when it might be fixed. Fortunately, it was mostly temperate We didn't receive housekeeping even once during a seven-day stay. When I asked for the garbage to be removed, it was taken away promptly. It didn't bother me, so I reported it but didn't make a fuss. The pans in the kitchenette didn't work on the induction job they'd installed, but once they figured out what was wrong, new pans came fast. The valet parking system broke down on day two because the front desk rarely answered the phone during the day. This meant you had to come down to request the car and then wait 15 minutes for it. $50 a day plus tips is also very expensive for a city such as Calgary. Fortunately, there's municipal parking across the street that costs $18 a day. There are design flaws too. This is meant to be a long-stay hotel, but there's very little hanging space and one of the three tiny drawers is taken up by the Book of Mormon (this is a Marriott) and the Bible The gym is good for a hotel but the equipment choices seem a bit random. Overall, the hiring decisions were really good; the rest needs work
