Reconsider your budget and look elsewhere
Sadly, after staying here for some time, I am unable to get any response or feedback to my enquiries regarding the "deposit" for the room key. Notably the value of the deposit is below the interest of credit card companies and as such I feel I have lost or had stolen $30 for a key which was returned to the "returned key box" in reception. Granted a minor thing, but the weekly rate for this place kept increasing and for a property without A/C and very limiting facilities which needed maintenance and repair is just dissappointing.

The location was good but the room was a little tired looking. The lamp was broken, the carpet was melted from someone dropping a hot iron on it in the past and there was no air conditioning (I was sure I had booked a room with aircon). The shower, despite looking like something from a hospital, had the best water pressure ever (so good). There were no lifts to the accommodation level, just a set of stairs - no trouble for me, but other people may find this an issue.

room was very hot during daytime, no AC. Staff was very nice and helpful. Had to climb a high staircase, no elevator, dont suggest it to anyone with problems climbing. :)

The night manager was happy to let us in before our check in time. He was kind enough to get us a small cooler because we were surprised the rooms didn’t have any air conditioning. The only thing I didn’t like was it had no elevator only steps. There are 40 steep steps, not good if you have bad knees.
