    Handy for the Quayside

    A well placed hotel for the Quayside, comfortable room, showing signs of ageing but work is being done in the common parts. Good quality breakfast. Overall a good value for money stay

    No heating ( 4 days ) and no hot water ( 1 day )

    Arrived on the Thursday, checked in quite easily - no mention from staff at check in desk that there was no heating in the hotel. Found out this information through a poster in the hallway. Find this quite poor that there was no mention of this before we paid for our room ( paid on arrival ). Arrived at our room which was freezing temperatures due to no heating. Partner went down to ask about heating and was told there was a fault and he could have a small fan heater which might I add was no where near big enough to fill the room with heat. This resulting in myself being choked with the cold at the end of our stay due to the freezing temperatures in the room. Second morning we went to have a shower and water was ice cold. We understand that there was a storm and high winds however we were told if it didn’t come back on within 2hrs we could have a 50% refund. ThiS resulting in us waiting around in the hotel waiting on a phone call for 2hrs ( which we never received ). I personally think we should have been offered something off our bill at the start considering we had no heating for 4 days. Overall our room was clean and tidy and the hotel was good however the heating issues really made our stay disappointing.

    Disappointing stay

    Disappointing lack of knowledge and care from initial staff member, little help available to park, amazing lack of car parking despite empty land all around, no heating, no air con, room keys kept failing, incessant noise from persons gathered outside the front door all night necessitated closing windows. Room fine, clean and well laid out though tv not working correctly and wouldn't allow us to change settings. Overall felt it was disappointing and not obviously well managed.

    Not great.

    Heating wasnt working, staff immediately got me an electric heater but bathroom was like a fridge. Phone didnt work to call reception to tell them. Heard every noise, windows draughty as....and I could hear other rooms use the toilet 🙈 , somehow it travelled through the bathroom vent. Bed was excellent, staff lovely but rooms not great and badly need an uplift.

    On arrival we were told that the hotels car park was full and the closest one would charge- it cost us £26 just for the night (car was parked in there less than 12 hours) the room was shabby and needed up grading no usb charge points and no room service which I found very disappointing going up and down to the bar and reception. I’ve had better service stay in a budget hotel for less price. The door men and the two young ladies on the bar were very good.

    Great Location

    Great location and nice hotel. Disappointed to have a room facing the internal courtyard which was a little noisy throughout night with hotel staff taking cigarette breaks. This interrupted my sleep a number of times.
