My room flooded while we were there and the front desk clerk refused to move me because she said she'd get in trouble. I finally moved my luggage out and made her move me to a room that wasn't flooded. She knew the room was wet for two days and did nothing. The pipes from the shower must have burst and ruined our luggage and items in the luggage that were on the floor. They didn't care. There wasn't room for the luggage anywhere else. There was no clock either. The staff was kind, but they weren't able to make any decisions and take care of problems. They also had limited office hours, so be sure you check in or out during those hours. I won't ever stay there again.

Free bikes! Great staff but limited staff hours
The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating! They recommend restaurants/tours, helped us call taxis when needed, and book tours. There was a grocery store a 5-minute walk away, and the beach was a few steps away. We absolutely loved the free bikes! They also give you a lock so that was convenient. We only stayed two nights, but breakfast was different each morning – pancakes & bacon the first morning and a breakfast burrito the second morning. The room is small and dated but it has all of the necessities, including a safe. Our water stopped working after 10 PM one night so that was a bummer because we couldn’t shower, brush teeth, etc., but apparently it happens sometimes on the island. The same night, the entire island had a power outage so we woke up with no AC, no power, etc. – management did nothing wrong and there’s nothing they could’ve done, but I’m sure nicer hotels had generators so keep that in mind if you’re worried about power outages (I’m not sure how often that happens? But it was really hot in the room). The only reason I wouldn’t stay here again was because we didn’t feel safe – the staff is only there from 9 AM to 5 PM and the only entrance was down a back, dimly lit alley. There is an entrance on the main street sidewalk, but it was locked during our stay. There’s a large courtyard inside the gate that is dimly lit and there’s no security/staff to check in if they hear something, so we were worried walking back to our room anytime after sunset.

Exceptional
PERFECT!
WE STAYED FIVE NITES, THE ROOM AND BATHROOM WAS SMALL BUT EFFICIENT. THE MORNING BREAKFAST WAS ALWAYS ENJOYABLE AND DIFFERENT EACH MORNING. THE STAFF COULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANY NICER AND EXTREMELY HELPFUL WITH ARRANGING DAY TRIPS, GOLF CART RENTALS AND RECOMMENDING SOME EATERIES NEAR BY.

Very good
Changes in Latitudes needs a facelift but its location is good. An easy walk to the center of town. The staff is wonderful! They make everything easier from knowing where to find local eateries and booking excursions for you.

San Pedro visit was great at Changes in Latitude!
I traveled alone. It was a great location and place for me to stay 4 nights. The room is small but great for a single person. It might be a little tight for a couple. Service was splendid. Great breakfast, free bike and directions to everywhere. Easy walk to grocery store, rental golf car, diving shop, beach are 50 m away, liquor store, downtown and all commercial shops, airport at walking distance, ferry to Chetumal and to Belize at walking distance. Great location. I would definitely recommend this place and will come back again, if a second opportunity arises. Best of all....snorkeling and scuba diving the blue hole...unique - Look for Amigos del Mar.
