A beautiful hotel that imbues NY style
Extraordinary hotel. The restoration has been flawless. Rooms are comfortable. One disappointment was the food. Breakfast was very good, but lunch and brunch were average - the steak tartare was too salty and the waffle chips were oil soaked. Try to eat in the dining room, the bar couches are comfortable for taking a nap, but not for eating. Staff is overall ver professional. Another thing I do not like is the "second class citizen" approach of these types of hotels to online travel agency reservation. I had a minor problem with my reservation not being in their system, and the hotel went out of their to emphasize that it was not their problem and to contact If hotels do not like OTAs then they should not make their rooms available to them - its simple as that. So try to book direct.

Our honeymoon kickoff
Beautiful cozy hotel. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were a good size for NYC. Only negative was the noise down at the bar/restaurant travels to the rooms. We were on the second floor so we heard the noise until midnight or so. We called to see if they could move us to a diff room. Since they were unable to give us a higher level room they offered us a credit towards food/drinks and gave us a white noise machine, which helped. But I suggest when booking your room ask for a higher level. Other than that we LOVE the hotel!

The best of New York City!
I loved everything about this hotel. Gorgeous architectural history and details plus beautiful interior design. Another huge plus were the two beautiful restaurants associated with the hotel. Both restaurants had excellent food and service and the interior design and architectural details of the restaurants were world class. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully designed. The location was very convenient as well.

No love for us
We were not allowed in the bar area as guests and were not notified that we required tickets until the night before NYE, to be told they were sold out. We stayed in our room for NYE because of it. Horrible experience.

Sweet and Sour
The decor, the vibe, the variety of things to do within the hotel made this an amazing visit. As a recommendation, it would be great if you are a guest of the hotel that you are given advance notice of need to try to reserve a table at the popular and crowded bar as well as information on the dance club. We found about the later from talking to people in the bar and as a guest who was treated poorly when we sat down and a table that was being unoccupied, it felt a little off putting. We are still glad we saw it through.

The building has lots of character and is a very popular choice for drinks and dinner. Great location very close to the subway and walking distance to downtown venues.

Read some mixed reviews, but loved my experience. Great service and atmosphere, good location. Room typical NY, small but functional.
