There was a nasty smell in the lift which permeated throughout the level i stayed on. Only found out what it was when i overheard a staff member mention it. A notice of explanation would have been helpful. Staff were friendly and helpful overall, especially the ladies in the sports bar.

I loved the fact that Yaralla Sports Club is right underneath the Motel, with access to the Club’s Bars, Restaurants and Gymnasium.

  • 6.0.Good

The property had some renovations underway, which in itself was fine, but paying $$$ for a basic room and renovations was a bit steep. Our bed was pretty ordinary to be honest. The place felt very dark and dingy. The decor was pretty yuck and dark too. The meals at the attached club restaurant were quite overpriced, the food was ok, but not great. Also when someone says they’re Coeliac and you put the wrong toast in the brekky and you hear the chef swear from the restaurant when the waitress points it out it’s not a good look. Neither is just swapping the toast out then sending out cold bacon and eggs that are gluten contaminated. I was ill for days after. Staff at check in/out were lovely.

This property shares the reception area with the Yaralla Services Club. Staff were very efficient at check in at the breakfast dining area. There were no gluten free options for an after dinner snack but we were assured by staff they normally carried items. Gluten free bread was available to substitute into our breakfast order.

Room service meal was excellent and delivered quite quickly. Service at Pocino's was wonderful for breakfast even though they seemed to be short staffed and overloaded at times. They worked hard to deliver service.

All good. A quick stay on the way down from the Western Cape. The air conditioning could be a lot cooler. Check in was a bit chaotic with Covid.
