Beautiful house, view and stay!
Had a lovely stay last week! Ruth greeted us on arrival and offered us the choice of 2 rooms, one with a bath, one with a shower and said if we wanted the bath we could also go and use the shower in the other room which was very kind and straight away started our stay on a positive. The hotel was very clean and welcoming and the room a decent size. There was hand sanitizer and a one way system in place due to Covid and the usual breakfast buffet has been replaced by a pre order form. The breakfast options were vaired and plentiful and extra toast etc was offered. We both had a full english on our first morning which was lovely and then i had the homemade waffles on the second morning and my husband had eggs benedict which was also very nice! The garden is worth a little wonder and there is a path up the mountain which we didn't get a chance to explore unfortunately. The hotel also has an honesty bar which is a lovely idea. The hotel no longer serves food in the evening which i hadn't seen advised anywhere so just to note when planning. My very small thing i would say is that individual new toiletries would be better. Would definitely return back if in the area again! 🙂. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Great place to stay. However, narrow access lane a bit daunting.

Beautiful mountain cottage with superb breakfast
Beautiful mountain cottage. The owners clearly put the money into top end luxury experience with many small but important touches, like responsibly resourced spring water in the tap or trully home made fresh and yummie waffles for breakfast. The area is quiet and we had wonderful views from our large room. Town is a short walk away and it's easy to drive to other parts of Snowdonia. You get the value for money here and we both enjoyed staying at the hotel. Small minuses - they didn't serve dinners even though the internet and book in the room said they did and we were looking forward to eating there based on wonderful breakfast and the remote location. Be prepared for limited phone reception (not a bad thing when on holidays :-) but at least hotel wifi was working fine. The drive to the hotel was a horrible experience (steep driveway with sharp edge and tight passage with stone walls). I would recommend the owners to put cat eyes reflectors on the edges or some solar garden lights. Seeing a broken-off mirror of another car gave me the chills. I was worried each time I had to drive up that hill. Having cat eyes or garden light to indicate the edge/wall would be reassuring.

Wonderful, peaceful country retreat.
What an amazing place to stay! Totally surrounded by beautiful scenery and mountains. You drive up a narrow road to come across this stunning country house. Our room looked out onto the mountains, the garden is wild and the land occupies 22 acres which is mostly wild. National Trust sheep roam around. There is a lounge and lovely conservatory for guests which we sat in until dark. The breakfast was fab....nothing was too much trouble for Anna and Doro. The Dinners were cooked by Jim, the Chef and were great. From Thai dishes, French and English...we tried them all. This stay was a real treat, away from it all, peace and tranquillity but a quick drive to Beddgelert and beyond. I really do hope to go back.

A superb privately owned hotel
We were a party of 3 walkers arriving in damp conditions on foot. We were really warmly welcomed and this was the pattern for our stay. All the staff bent over backwards to care for the guests

Homely hotel
We chose a standard room but it was very small and had no shower only a bath and hand shower attachment. No tv in th rooms only a radio. The tv in the lounge did not work very well. We were moved to a large room half way through our stay at no extra cost this was much better. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a lovely position though this is up a very steep slope! It was quiet. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again if we were ever in that part of Wales again.
