Convenient location
Perfect location and we were given the loft-style room. The air conditioner did not work in nights of 30 degree Celsius heat, and we resorted to sleeping on the cold floorboards rather than the bed. Very nice room, close to everything you would want to see, a little difficult to find the office if you don’t speak Spanish.

Stay away of this place - infested by bedbugs
Place was infested by bedbugs and management is not keeping their promises. I am very disappointed by this place. We stayed there as part of our round-the-world honeymoon and this was by far our worst experience. During 2 nights, I got bitten by bedbugs 70 times! After getting strong allergic reaction and finding bedbugs in the bed, I contacted management to move us to different room. They moved us to a worse class room (we paid for a loft and received only standard room) but promised to refund us for the stay. Afterwards, they informed me by email that the pest company also found the place full of bedbugs so they will provide us with the refund. However, after 6 weeks, they still haven't refund us even though I remind them every week and they just keep promising. That is very unfair behavior as refunding us is the least they can do for ruining this part of our honeymoon. Otherwise, the apartments are nicely located in the city center but pretty hard to find as they are located in a common apartment building with no signs.

Someone got murdered in the apartment building.
this is the 3rd time I stay at Altura Apartments. I like the location, since is very near to the place where I need to have my business meetings. Sadly, I will never stay at Altura ever again! on Monday December 3rd, 2018 someone got murdered on the apartment building. This was a terrifing experience. I never felt so unsafe in my life. ONLY IF YOU LIKE THE TRILL, stay in this place on your own risk. Downtown Santiago is not nice anymore, look for a hotel in Providencia instead.

Good Value - Good Location - room with a view
The Altura Suite is in a huge apartment complex located near Cerra Santa Lucia park - near the Metro, next door to a supermarket, near plenty of restaurants. The bi-lingual staff - Gabriel, Paola, Fabiola, Jose, Hugo and Gaus - are always welcoming and ready to help. They also have a relationship with a local travel agent which we used for trips to Valparaiso / Vin del Mar and Isla Negra, as we wanted to 'walk in the footsetps' of Pablo Neruda. Ask for Naomi (studying tourism) - she is the best and her english is excellent. I also recommend taking a 'free walking tour' of Santiago. The guides work for tips. Meet at Plaza de Armas at 10am (every day) in front of the Cathedral. Say 'Hola' to Alejandro from Paula and Tim. He knows his history. The Altura staff informed me that they are all from Venezuela. Our 18th floor apartment had a view of the park and the Andes Mountains. We were very lucky that during our two week stay, it only rained half a day. The apartment is fully equipped (large fridge / toaster / microwave/ dishes / pots. etc. and the bedding / towels can be exchanged, as often as you like. There is a laundry room on the 22nd floor. The floors in the common area are always being cleaned. The residents always greet eachother on the elevator. We got to meet several of them. The only downside was that the hallways are dimly lit and the hallway walls need to be painted. The pillows need to be replaced. We would definitely stay there again. It was a very good value.

Great, central location place to stay
Great apartment for stopping in Chile. In the middle of the tourist attractions, easy reach to everything. Apartment was clean and up to date. Only problem was WiFi wasn’t great.
