I enjoyed staying at Royam. The staff was great.The buffet was delicious. Good entertainment also. The only issue was accessing the hotel. The road to the hotel (from the main road) is very bad with a lot of potholes. I think the hotels in that neighborhood (Royam, Neptune, Palmaraie) should join forces to fix the road.

The hotel in general is nice however the staff did come across very coarse and not particularly helpful. The staff seemed more intent on chatting up the guests, particularly lone females. The pool was freezing and the beech isn’t great. The food is good and the gardens very good, being maintained by the hardest working members of the hotel staff.

Royam Hotel offers more like 2-star amenities
Royam Hotel is said to be a 4-star hotel, but by who's definition? Seems 2 or 3 max would be more like it. TV reception was fuzzy on all channels with only one English channel, CNN. Internet connectivity was sketchy at best, and that was only available in the lobby area. The pool was very nice, cleaned daily. There were plenty of lounge chairs with nice new pads. The breakfast was simple but fresh with choice of eggs and crepes, but only processed meat slices and only one type of cheese (no grilled ham, bacon, sausages), not what a typical 4-star hotel would offer (less than what it should be). Staff were very friendly and polite but only 2 men could speak English well enough to help us. Beach area was clean with lots of lounge chairs available. We were there during low season, so maybe that helped. We were in the basic room, and that's what it was, basic. But hey, you get what you pay for. The cost was the best (lowest) in the area for being on the beach with buffet breakfast included. We would stay here again and would recommend it to friends who are on a tight budget for their hotel.

Great stay
Great location, beautiful resort right on the beach. Private, with everything you need right there, only down fall is the internet but I spoke with the reception and they put me in another room. Great customer service, the chef even prepared food togo on my way to the airport

Great hotel on the beach
Great hotel, nice bungalows to stay in and nice grounds. Right on the sea front so sounds of waves crashing are heard throughout. Lovely buffet food selection and evening entertainment during dinner. Very friendly and helpful staff. Recommended a stay here.

Magical resort!
A really beautiful resort, with friendly staff and every thing you could possibly need in terms of location and amenities. The only thing left wanting was the dinner buffet, which didn't have many local options (a shame when Senegalese food is so delicious), but certainly fit the bill of most all-inclusive-type resorts.
