Worst ever experience
Prefer to give zero rating if I can. We would never stay here ever again and would not recommend to any. Very poor customer service in total. Our flight was delayed due to storm so landed at the hotel past 11pm. Checked into the room after lot of hassle with checking in and parking, finally to find an apartment without electricity. Till 2am the security and in charge person tried to see if the problem can be fixed but it dint. They said they will organise another room by morning for us to get ready and iron and we can have a late check out and offered an extra night stay too. But next morning we woke up to a surprise, we got a call from one of the director who did not want to give her name(caller id on phone showed name Luna) saying she likes us to vacate the room immediately and go to the lobby as she is sending the technician and cleaner and she will give us Gym bathroom to get ready, she doesn't have another room for us and she cannot honour what the night shift staff promised. We hadn't even brushed our teeth and she was not ready to give us even an hour to get ready in room as the technician had arrived. She said she can give us a refund of money and she has master key to access room whether we co-operate or not. We literally were about to call Police to help us out. If we can be treated this way, cannot imagine international travellers condition here. She was not sorry, had no empathy, she was just ordering. She did not even realise that we could not sleep whole night

Guest Rate = 1 for poor service – Don’t use/stay
Review Guest Rate = 1, for extremely poor service – Don’t stay. Frustrated and horrible at this Milano Serviced Apartment * An unhealthy and strong unpleasant smell - at the corridors and hallways on entire level 30 where our room located. Mentioned the smell to reception desk on the day we checked-in and asked them to check it out. Seem like this smell issue is normal to hotel staff because no action was done, no interested or care by the hotel duty staff as the same smell got worse and stronger each day during our 2 days stayed. We opened our big slide glass door to get fresh air from outside into our room during our entire stays 24x2 days and nights. We checked-out this Milano apartment with extremely negative feelings, bad experience and never come back to this apartment ever again. * Bad reception desk service - TV switched on with no channels signal. Called reception 4 times in the same afternoon after we checked-in our room on our arrival. Spoke to duty staff from reception desk. After each promising from reception desk, no one turned up. On my last fourth called to reception desk after our dinner, finally our TV got fixed just before reception desk ended and closed for the day.

Worst hotel ever
On arrival they could not find a key to our room so allocated us another which had two single beds instead of a king they finally found our key fifteen minutes later When we turned on the lights in the bedroom they flicked for a few seconds when we looked one of the downbeat lights was hanging out and the switch next to the bed didn’t work at all We booked the tennis court for 10am but couldn’t get access until 10.20 because the building manager had forgotten to unlock it Then we went for a swim and after only one lap could not see properly for two and a half hours because of the amount of chlorine On the second morning we plugged in the toaster and as soon as we pushed it down all the power went out in the apartment we called reception and was told someone would be up to fix it after ten minutes we worked it out and fixed it ourselves When we finally got to use the toaster it set off the smoke alarm three times and we could hear an alarm from another room at the same time The walls in the bathroom were absolutely filthy and the shower had a lot of mould

Cleanliness needs improvement
Milano Serviced Apartment is decent for short stays for the rates it charges. However, it’s not ideal if you’re particular about cleanliness & safety. Positives: 1. Near to public transport (less than 5 mins to trams off Swanston/ Elizabeth street; less than 10 mins to Melb Central Train Station) 2. A cheap supermarket next door 3. Queen Victoria Market is 5 mins away 4. Very accessible to the Melb city, RMIT, Melb Uni, North Melb, Carlton 5. Facilities are good, especially the gym, which is VERY spacious & well-equiped, it could pass off as a non-fancy boutique gym. 6. Room on high level facing North Melbourne has a nice view especially at night Negatives: 1. Dated (you can tell from the design of the lobby, the layout of the room & some of the furniture) 2. Limited housekeeping (stayed for 7 nights & room wasn’t cleaned even once; granted I was informed of limited housekeeping being available during the time of booking & a lady did offer to clean on the 5th day but it wasn’t convenient so I asked her to return the following day, she agreed but never showed up the next day) 3. Dusty room & dirty bed (the flooring & some areas were dusty; when I checked in I was horrified to see 3 strands of long hair around the pillow) 4. Cable TV didn’t work sometimes 5. No safety box & the luggage storage area at the lobby is just a tiny corner by the side, with no system to secure/ identify luggage, not exactly difficult for people to steal

We booked this hotel as we were in a heatwave and they had a pool. Big mistake. When the other reviews mentioned chemicals hurt their kids eyes, that was an understatement. My partner regularly swims in public pools and has never reacted to the water. As soon as he entered the water of this pool his eyes began burning and were instantly red and reacting. I strongly suggest the water is tested, something is not right. The apartment is clean but lots of noises from the city were easily heard all night, such as sirens and people yelling. Worst of all they took a bond from my account. I questioned this as usually hotels just swipe your card with nil charge in case. I was assured the amount would be ‘refunded’ the next day. In the morning when we left and I asked a different receptionist about the refund she was confused and said no money was taken out. I showed her on my phone that it had been and she said because it was ‘pending’ no money was taken out. I explained this reduced my available balance in my account by $150 and she assured me it would ‘drop off’ and the amount would be reinstated. 5 days later the amount still was not returned. I called and again had trouble making myself understood. Finally I was reassured it would be referred to the manager and it would be back in my account the next day. Let’s hope so - 6 days to return somebody’s money from a one night stay is ridiculous and unprofessional. On top of that the air con made heaps of noise and no ironing board.
