Exceptional 10.0
Duty manager Jerry Zhou and team have been helpful and service was impeccable! He surprised my husband with a birthday cake, a fruit plate and a handwritten card on his special day! Also, he personally gave us a guided tour of the Chinese restaurant so that we could host the birthday dinner within the property for convenience. Restaurant manager Helen Zheng gave us a private room with lounge sofas for my guests. She and her attentive team displayed great efforts in making the birthday celebration a successful one! Chef Tony prepared delicious Cantonese cuisines which we enjoyed tremendously. In addition, he surprised my husband with the well decorated longevity buns and peaches! Overall, we were pampered by the hotel staff and will recommend friends/families to stay in this hotel for its well maintained property at strategic location and impeccable service rendered!

Fair 4.0
The service really lets this 4* hotel down
The hotel looks plush and the pool is lovely, although we had just stayed at Four Seasons Shanghai Pudong which is similar but with greater wow factor. The beds are hard but the pillows are lovely and soft. Room was large with a great bathroom. The chefs in Tian Tan kitchen, the delicious buffet restaurant on the ground floor, were the most pleasant staff I encountered. They are very engaging and chatty. The team (loose use of the word - it suggests effort and coordination) on the 12th floor rooftop bar are infuriatingly slow. Their is a gender divide for English speaking staff, men can, women cannot. It's the women who come to take the drinks orders.... The men then spend a very long time chatting up women, checking their phones- Doing Anything Else- before making the drinks. We had a tray accidentally dropped by us. Panic ensued- I had to suggest we move tables to allow for a clean up. They took another 10mins for someone to actually get us our drinks. We also waved for 10 minutes to get the attention for the bartender and waitress outside on our final night 20/7/17. We were the only guests there. They were too busy chatting to each other. Check out wasn't pleasant. Left a sour note: I explained I'd been charged double for a breakfast and the clerk at 5am 21/7/17 argued about why I was telling her now. Erm... you asked me to check the bill. Rude and unapologetic. Lobby loo cleaners applying make up, lobby lounge area girl on phone for 10 mins...

Very good 8.0
Good modern hotel in Beijing
The hotel is nice and modern, with good size room and bathroom. A really nice gym and pool area ( The pool only inside which is a shame). The hotel restaurant offers great value for money if you choose the evening buffet since there a lot of good food to choose from. It seems like many locals eat there as well since we didn't see many tourists while we where there. The strange thing is that we have been in China for more than 2 weeks and every hotel has served us lukewarm cappuccino´s but boiling hot tea?? so if you want a hot coffee go to the Maan coffee bar on the corner from the hotel or Starbucks at the shopping center. The staff at the reception was helpful and some of them spoke good English. The person who helped us getting our luggage to the room (unfortunately we didn't get his name) was really kind and helpful and he booked our trip to the forbidden city and helped us when our car from the hotel to Beijing station was in a car accident. Thank you for all your help. What a sweet and kind man. The wifi in the hotel is really slow compared to what we are used to at home. There area of the hotel seems like an up an coming area and its 15 min walk max to some bigger shopping centers.

Beijing New World Experience
The wonderfully helpful staff were gracious and nothing was too much effort. We received a very generous upgrade upon arrival to a King Suite which was spacious and exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was extremely spacious and the king bed was so large, that I lost my wife in it the first night. Once the staff heard that this trip was our honeymoon, we were immediately upgraded again to a top floor penthouse suite which took our experience to a whole new level. It was amazing to say the least. The NW Beijing Hotel is centrally located only 20 minutes walk to the Mausoleum of Chairman Mao and Tianemen Square, and the Forbidden City is only a further 3 minute ride from there on Bus 5, which is also very convenient. There are quite a number of restaurants and eateries in the nearby area, as well as several shopping malls if retail therapy is what you desire. The Temple of Heaven and Pearl Markets are within a 15 minute walk south of the NW Beijing Hotel. Public transport options including bus and the subway are also in short walking distance. Staff also assisted my wife and I to arrange a private chauffeur driven vehicle which took us to a section of the Great Wall only 70kms North East of the city. The driver kindly waited for 4 hours for us to ascend the wall before coming back down for a late lunch, and then drove us 1.5hrs back to the hotel. Awesome experience! New World Beijing Hotel - you exceeded all of our expectations! We will be back for sure! Thank you!

Very good 8.0
Many will rate the hotel because of the price value it gets. True enough but for a five-star hotel, the service has definitely an area to improve. One, we arrived early and they said they will try their best to clean the room, let us know we can check-in by 1330. But it didn't happen. Secondly, one of my guests accompanying me were chased from the lobby seating (apparently they sell drinks) to the 4 seater place next to the lifts.
