Great stay just minutes form the city centre
Dunedin here is where you find a little bit of Scotland in New Zealand. This city is charming and popular with locals and students alike. For a motel we were surprised just how amazing this motel was. Felt more like a Hotel and with the added bonus of having Netflix. Just want to take a moment to thank the gentleman who checked us in. He took the time to highlight areas on the map to show us where to go and was completely friendly and welcoming upon arrival. The lovely lady in the morning also let us keep our car there for an extra couple of hours after check-out so we could get some breakfast. One of the best places we stayed on our trip and if we are ever in Dunedin again we will definitely stay here.

Lovely hosts
We are an American family who travelled in NZ for 16 days. The couple who owned this property were very helpful, warm, and friendly. The room was clean and the beds were great. We arrived on Christmas Eve and stayed until the day after Christmas. I spent my Christmas morning doing laundry on the property and, as my clothes washed, they chatted with me all about New Zealand making our stay feel much more personal. Before the trip I was apprehensive about staying at small family run motels. In the US these sort of places are usually not very nice. The opposite was true in NZ. Our best experiences were in small family run motels. I encourage you to get to know the country by booking in these sort of properties.

Fully recommend
We were very impressed with the freshness and cleanliness of our room and the cheerful welcome from the lady who looked after us on arrival. The facilities were modern and in good working order. The only wee concern was the fact that it was a bit of a battle to find the electric blanket cords. One was so tightly tucked under the mattress one of the metal prongs on the plug was bent flat!!! Maybe the bed makers could be advised to make sure these plugs and cords a visible and accessible, especially at this time of year!!!

Graduation
We stayed at Amross for two nights. We arrived late on Thursday night and were greeted by both Donna and Barry. They were very welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Our room had a separate bedroom, huge bathroom and good sized dining and lounge area which was great. Given that it was our eldest sons graduation, both of our sons although staying elsewhere came and went during the two days along with grandparents. Gran and granddad were able to park in the section next door which was very kind and helpful to them. We would absolutely stay again and recommend Amross to others.

Fantastic hosts
Arrived lot find that our room was upgraded; the room was beautiful and facilities great. The restaurant recommendation was really good so overall first impressions excellent. There was a washer dryer in the room which was a very welcome bonus; the clothes didn’t dry so I took them over to the on site laundry. The manager not only put them through their dryer; she folded them and hand delivered them back to our room. We had another really good recommendation for breakfast. All in all an excellent stay
