Honesty Is The Best Policy
Very friendly staff. My room was clean when I arrived. They were honest people, they told me weeks ahead that my room has no windows, which is fine with me because I'm not claustrophobic. They also told me weeks ahead that paying credit card will have additional percentage charges compared to paying cash in local currency. I was prepared with those advance information they e-mailed me. I stayed in room no.1, which has a private toilet and bath, which was clean. Centralized AC in that specific room. Personally, I would describe this more of a hostel rather than a hotel. And I didn't expect a 5 star hotel, and they never claim to be. Just outside is the bus (or streetcar) stop. Very accessible by public transportation. I'm happy. Thank you

Great cheap place.
We were down for Toronto Pride. The Kaisar Guest House is a very affordable place in a great central area. At this price it ain't the Ritz, but it is clean and quiet, and everything works. Spartan is the word. I would go back. The neighbourhood is one of Toronto's 'unique' ones, and is much, much safer than first impression.

I only stayed for a night for an emergency matter. My room was close to the washroom, I can hear everything even the people next room whispering, lol. Yet everyone was so considerate and quite. I was surprised. Kasami was lovely and was there to greet me and when I left.

Clean, quiet, economical
Because of the area parking was very difficult. I paid for parking behind the guest house, but someone parked in the area behind me and it was such close quarters I feared I was going to scrape my car on the side of the building trying to get out so the following night I parked on the street even though I wasn't supposed to. It's nice to have a kitchen, although the appliances are old.

Clean but claustrophobic
o Immaculately clean and odour-free. o WiFi Internet access available in the room most of the time. o There was no window in my room, which appeared to be a converted storage space. This was not mentioned in the description of the room. o "shower/tub combination" in the description is inaccurate; it is a shower only. o "air conditioning": the room seemed to be adequately ventilated but there was no thermostat or A/C control. o In the event of fire, exiting the building could be difficult. The route to the only exit is long, narrow and takes several turns. I did not see lighted exit signs.

Not a nice place for business travelers.
Although the bed was nice and bathroom was good there was no window in the room so it felt like a cell plus it was very hot and uncomfortable. The television was ok but often didn't work.

Helpful staff
The stuff told me how the transportation in Toronto works in detail. The room was clean. The hotel is located just in front of the station of a street car. Great place to stay!

Clean Bargain
Considering the price of hotels around this was a bargain. Guests need to expect total simplicity of rooms with the bare minimums but very clean. Also there are stairs- some quite steep and narrow

It served the purpose I needed; shower and sleep.
