Poor 2.0
I was disappointed and very unhappy with the service of the room. The fridge had not been turned on and the packs had melted and there was water pooled everywhere which I had to use a towel to clean up. The toilet did not flush properly. The half button was pushed right in and wouldnt move while the full button when pushed would get stuck and constantly flush. Upon complaint their suggestion was to push it multiple times gently. This did not always work and it would still stick. The electrical safety checking in the room was out of date. I have pictures from the tags from various items including the electric blanket which showed it had not been done since 2011. This is dangerous and appalling. From working in a hospital I know that when these items have their checks done the electrical tag is replaced so they obviously had not been done. The beds were uncomfortable with lumpy old spring mattresses.I paid $145 which wasnt worth it. The only reason they are able to ask that much is demand. The one positive thing I can say is that it was clean and it had nice heritage features.

Exceptional 10.0
Super location, character filled clean hotel!
Fabulous hotel! Enjoyed our stay here and even booked longer. Hotel is dated but that is part of the character, it is clean and well kept. Some beautiful rooms to sit and read in. Bedroom, was a backpacker room so bunk beds, the room was a bit small and nowhere to put stuff but for the price and location you can't go wrong! Bathroom was massive, clean and hot water. The bar and food; the food was delicious! Great prices and sizes, super cold beer at fab prices! Friendly and attentive staff, always willing to help. Perfection location! Highly recommend!

Good 6.0
Tired hotel but helpful staff made it a good stay
Check in took ages as they lost the booking for the person in front of us. Hotel has good location and plenty of free parking. Hotel was VERY tired, really in need of renovation and they are in the process of doing so (room next door - not a nice wake up to drilling at 7am though) VERY helpful reception staff made all the difference to our stay - went above and beyond to offer help - veryimpressed.

Very good 8.0
Handy to the centre of town. Enjoyed the atmosphere of a heritage building which has been modernised for comfort. Friendly and helpful staff. Good reading light over the bed. Appreciated coffee/tea making facility in the room. Liked the maps, posters, photographs on the walls. Continental breakfast very good value. Dining room is a beautiful space.

Fair 4.0
Dated and not quaint!
Very unattractive and dated hitekb with zero charm. Would never stay there again! Shower had a sheet metal floor which wobbled, noisy surroundings and bed was terrible! Could hardly stand up th next day. Don't think it's been updated since 1950s! Good luck future guests! Staff was helpful and nice AND that was the big good part! Can I get my money back? Paid way too much for this dump!
