Nice Room with small hotel service
The room was nice and big. It was nice having the T stop right outside made getting into city easy. Got INCREDIBLY cold at night and no one to talk to about that. Was promised at check out that there would be a luggage hold, than there wasn’t and we were left with no where to put luggage and got yelled at my front desk (at the other location as no one was working the desk at our location!) that we should have asked for late checkout earlier. We wouldn’t have needed late check out if there was a luggage hold!

The room was run down and did not feel clean.

Its a great location and the gentlemen at the front desk was very polite and informative. It has the feel of sorority house at a college. Walking distance to a couple nice lil restaurants one of which i dined at( publick house) My only gripe with this place is the $30 parking fee you should purchase because there is no overnight parking in Brookline! Well worth the purchase and I highly recommend this low key gem

Parking was difficult because of a snow storm. Also not aware of the parking charge until we checked in.

The Beacon Inn was quite comfortable and our room had everything we needed. We appreciate that there was parking and a modest breakfast offered in the morning.

Comfort but not clean that much
It was old and antique building with wood floors but not a professional house keeping, I guess. I would stay there if it’s a little bit more cleaned care. By the way, there is an excellent beer & wine restaurant, 1 minute by walking!

Can be better
This trip was for an event I deemed relevant to attend for the career transition I have been in. I stayed at the other affiliated property in early 2015 and had a very good impression. At this property, although the location was excellent and overall lovely, I thought it could be better maintained. Quite a few details were due to an upgrade. Also, one of the light bulbs in the ceiling light fixture in my room (John Quincy Adams) was missing. WiFi was not the best I had experience with - also, in the guest service binder, guests were asked to connect with “beaconinn” network, whereas it was listed as a different name on all of the available wifi networks.

TERRIBLE: bedbugs, cold, no privacy
This was the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced, and I travel for work so I have a lot of experience. The only positive thing I can say is that they gave me a refund, although 50% back does not seem very generous to me considering how awful my stay was. Also the towels were very soft. The biggest issue was bedbugs: overnight the back of my neck was totally devoured by bedbugs. I did not see the bedbugs themselves, but I will upload a picture of the bites and you can judge for yourself. I will also add that there is no way I got the bites outside the day before because it was below 50 degrees, much too cold for mosquitoes or other insects (not to mention that I happened to be wearing a turtleneck for most of the day). Unfortunately the bedbugs are not my only complaint: I was extremely cold (high of 50 as I mentioned). When I asked at the front desk, I was told that there is no way to control the temperature in individual rooms, and the building system was not running. I was also told that I was not the first guest to have complained about the temperature...
