The hotel is semi permanently closed, and gas been for some time, although hotels com allows bookings to be made for it. So you will be in for a shock when you arrive.

A Clean and Comfortable Older Hotel
This older hotel has a good feel to it. It is the sort of old Mexican hotel we like to find. The entire facility was clean, the front office staff very helpful, and the property is well-located to enjoy local restaurants, sightseeing and shopping. It has a secure parking area and there was ample space during out time there. Breakfast was fine and inexpensive. Our room was on the second floor and there was no elevator on our wing; not sure if the same is true elsewhere in the hotel.

Its our second time staying at this place, my kids loved the pool and its conveniently located. Staff goes above and beyond , and it has become our pick choice for hotel in Tehuacan. The restaurant has exellent food and surely we'll be back.

An antique beauty
Beautiful old hotel with lovely courtyards—what a find. It was fun to explore. The pool area has an outdoor “livingroom” with a tv—and there are ping pong tables—both a hit for our family. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Not recommended
The hotel has lots of character but no hot water and had no water at all to flush toilet. They gave us a room right in front of restaurant which was loud and not comfortable. The waiter in the restaurant was not friendly and disappeared for 15 minutes when we were trying to get check.

Large colonial style hotel
The Gran Hotel must have been the hotel to stay when in Tehuacan back in the day. It's colonial style architecture is very impressive and it has a nice large pool. I wish the staff spoke English but that's an issue anywhere you go in Mexico. It felt safe but one should always excercise caution in one of the most dangerous countries in the world!
