    Disappointed
Clean and comfortable rooms. But the hotel in general is defenitely not worth a second visit. We chose this hotel because of the pool and paid more than usd 550,- per night including taxes for a two queen bed room, one of their smallest rooms. We stayed 4 nights. We could have had a much nicer hotel for that price. Pool area is a disaster. Overcrowded and unorganized. So we almost weren’t able to use it. Everything must be paid for. No free water or coffee in the room or the reception. At check out they told me I could have used for 10 USD in the minibar once but that would only have bought us three capsules for coffee I think. Also too late to get that information. At check out we had to pay 45 USD per night in resort fee on top of our bill. I complained we couldn’t even use the pool the day of our arrival because it was closed due to a private party. So we had 45 USD deducted. The other days it was just too crowded to stay there so we almost didn’t. But so little value for money. We will not recommend.

Winner for most overpriced hotel is ROYALTON PARK
I had a absolutly horrible exeperince at this hotel. I would reccomened booking this hotel if you want to wake up in the morning and feel robbed after looking at your bank statement. Regardless of being told I was not going to be charged for late check out, I was. The reason I was in a hurry the morning of check out is, I had to run to the stroe next door in attempt to access the internet. Despite paying $40 dollars for Wi-Fi I had extremely poor to no connect for the duration of my reservation. I was unable to book my flight during my entire stay at the hotel. I called the night before my check out to ask if there was any possibility I could have access to a computer to book my flight due to the fact the hotel'sinternet was not working. I was told there was none. I spent the morning before my check out trying to find service for my phone to work. Needless to say if you would like to be paternized by hotel staff after spending half a grand at hotel book here. If your a young female independent professional travel I would highly recommend bookinh at another hotel. When the hotel would contact me they would address me as Mr. W**** this was after notifying them there is no Mr. W**** staying at the hotel just Mrs. W****( the WOMEN who actually paid for the room) If you want to use all of your cell phone data book here. If you want to wake up 3 to 5 business days after your vacation in disguest book here.

    Nice hotel...but
I really like the Royalton -- big rooms, everything modern and clean. Many friendly and courteous staff members. But for this last stay, I had reserved rooms for 3 colleagues and me. I'd intended to prepay but accidentally booked the 'pay at hotel' option, so all of us were required to put down a card upon arrival. All good -- except one colleague had an extra $1300 'hold' put on his card. Was it a coincidence that he was the only African American man, while the rest of us were white women? Boy, I hope so. At first, the hotel would not remove the charge and the woman at the front desk got pretty shirty with my colleagues when they asked her to. The next night, we were able to get all charges transferred to my card, and the extra charge removed. We appreciated that and the courtesy Cherry showed us as she made the changes. But we couldn't help but feel unsettled by the experience.

    Exceptional 10.0
    Great hotel with phenomenal staff
This is a beautiful hotel in a central location. It's got a great, trendy yet chic vibe (not a romantic weekend away type of hotel though). The staff is what takes it from a good hotel to an exceptional one. Every single person we interacted with went above and beyond. We stayed in a Park Avenue suite and it was lovely. Good size with one large bathroom and a smaller half bathroom, separate sitting area and a bar/serving area. It's a corner unit with lots of full length windows and short balconies. I did find it to be quite noisy (maybe because of the windows - lack of insulation? We were on the 6th floor so higher up may be slightly better). Beds were extremely comfortable with great bedding. The only issues I encountered was a so-so temperature control system; poor lighting (not makeup application friendly) in the bathroom and weak plumbing (takes a bit for water to heat up and flushing toilets could be a problem). Location wise you couldn't ask for better. Starbucks across the street, plenty of readily accessible lunch and dinner options - lots of restaurants (fast food, fine dining and pubs), Madison Park a short walk away. The rooftop bar was a fantastic place for pre-drinks or a night cap. Staff there was equally wonderful (and attentive). I would gladly return to stay at this hotel, any of the issues that arose were minor in my opinion (perfection is difficult to attain and very subjective). This hotel exceeded my expectations for certain.

If you're visiting New York for a few days
The hotel was in a great location. It was close to a subway stop, and a bunch of places to eat. The staff was very polite, and helpful when we asked questions. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My only (slight) negative was that the last night we were there, we could hear music coming from the rooftop bar. We were 3 floors below the roof, so I can only imagine how much louder it would have been for anyone else on a floor closer to the roof. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone else visiting New York.
