Can’t say enough about our stay here over Christmas with friends and family. First off, Service - this was actually one of the more affordable beach zone hotels, but compared to the other Colibri hotels we visited, the service here was better and exemplary. In particular, the front desk person Gilberto was such a star, functioning like a personal concierge during our entire stay. He catered to our every need, going above and beyond, even walking out to the street to talk to taxis for us. As a small business owner, I know good employees, and Gilberto is an MVP, but the entire staff was terrific and reflected the same attention to hospitality and detail that rivals what we experienced in fine hotels in Thailand. The hotel property is quaint, with all units facing the beach. This hotel is on a secluded stretch of the hotel zone, so you do have to walk about 10-15 minutes to get to other hotels, shopping, and restaurant, if you don’t want to pay for the pricey taxi’s in the area. Of course, there are pluses and minuses with this, but we were ok with it, and enjoyed the quiet non-party atmosphere. The beachfront is a little inlet bay and there is a beautiful sand beach, but there are alot of rocks in the water, so it doesn’t make for good swimming, but walk down the beach about 5 minutes you get to a really nice swimming beach that stretches for miles and was as good or better than Playa Paraiso. Overall great quiet hotel for families, good value, and impeccable service.

I recently occupied a Caribbean deluxe suite there for 3 days. It was an anniversary trip and me and my wife were extremely pleased staying at this hotel. Excellent staff, food, and service. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted kindly and treated attentively. Having the beach right in front of my room was just amazing. Cozy hotel with excellent service
A very cozy hotel. Our original booking was for one night and we extended it for a second evening. Beautiful ocean views and a small beach that's actually on a little bay. Even though its in the hotel zone, it is less crowded and not so trendy as other places. Restaurant has a great view. The staff was exceptional at all times. They even went out of their way to help us order delivery of food. Since we are staying in Playa del Carmen during the pandemic, it's easy for us to get back to this gem of a hotel.

El Pez Stay for Couple
El Pez was incredible from the time we stepped foot on the property. Beautiful property and incredible service that rivals many 5 star hotels in Vegas. Many English speaking employees and everyone takes Covid seriously always wearing a mask. Private beach with opportunity for massage on beach, lagoon styled pool. Comfy bed with private patio space overlooking the ocean and private beach. Daily afternoon tea and morning coffee delivered to room. Speedy wifi across the property. Good food and drinks. Good location and walking distance or short taxi ride to numerous restaurants, bars or shops. The ONLY issue we had, which the El Pez staff worked diligently in fixing and offered a comp'd meal because of the issue was we had some hot water issues in our room. But as I mentioned, they worked consistently in fixing it and provided updates, apologizing profusely about the situation. Overall, book here if available, incredible quality you get for the price. We would absolutely return to El Pez if we come back to Tulum. Thanks for everything, El Pez!

The hotel and property are beautiful!! The hotel is so zen and gorgeous, the beach and pool were so nice, I never wanted to leave. The staff was amazing (Denisse, Jaime, Edwin) it was my birthday and they made it so special. We had the most wonderful time at El Pez and we will definitely return when we are in Tulum. Highly recommend it!
