Commodore Hotel - Great stay (and sleep) Astoria
The hotel is a modern upgrade of an old hotel.... they have a hip vibe and the decor is modern with a Retro ambiance. The bed and pillows were amazing!!!! Two choices - room with bathroom inside, or room with toilet and showers in the hallway. All totally redone with white tile walls and floors.... flat panel tv in room, check out movies, or a turn table and records to listen in your room. So fun!!!

Cheap and artsy space!
Bed was a little lumpy and there was construction in the crawl space on the last morning there that we weren’t warned about. Otherwise, everything was awesome. I loved the decor and cleanliness. You could rent record players and records which is rad. They had movie rentals too. Cozy spaces and friendly front staff. I would highly recommend this place to any young folk looking for a good price and neat space.

Nice little getaway in Astoria
We definitely enjoyed the stay, the location was perfect as it was in the middle of downtown and walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The rooms are nice and clean but a bit cramped. Other than the lack of space in the room we don't really have any complaints. The staff is really friendly and they had complimentary beer!

Good bones but a few tweaks needed
The Commodore is lovely... small rooms that remind me of NYC or London hotels, with a shared bathroom down the hall. But a lovely fireplace-lit lobby that is adjacent to Street 14 Cafe, which is one of my favorite coffee shops. I wasn’t a fan of the metal head music playing in the lobby and through the halls in the room, but when I (3 albums later) asked the front desk guy to change it, he did. Some of the super graphic and explicit lyrics were totally inappropriate for a hotel vibe though, however artsy or avantegard. Lastly, my room (201) had a window that didn’t close... at all... which felt (as a single woman) like a huge security risk, since it actually opened up to a shared level with the other rooms and someone could have simply come in. It also resulted in what sounded like a roaring river outside my window the whole night, but that wasn’t so bad. I should have asked to move, but at midnight, that was the last thing I felt like doing, so I hunkered down... was not a great night’s rest, though, and they really shouldn’t rent that room until it’s fixed. All in all, I’d stay there again, though... the location is great and if you’re more outspoken about the discomforts, then I’m sure they’ll be addressed.
