The Old Faithful Inn's exterior and lobby interiors are truly breathtaking, with a magical snow wonderland that makes it a must-visit destination. The staff is friendly, and the location within the park is convenient. However, the lack of signage to guide visitors to the park could be improved.
Unfortunately, the rooms were a letdown. I was surprised to find that none of them had TVs, but that was something I could live without. However, considering the price point, I expected more modern amenities. Instead, the rooms felt outdated and unappealing, reminiscent of a halfway house or an old Motel 6. Our heater furnaces were noisy all night, making it sound like little people were shoveling coal and banging the pipes. The rooms lacked any aesthetic design or photos, making them feel dull and uninspired. Note that if you're in a wheelchair, make sure to request a room on a floor with an elevator.
The restrooms were basic, but they did have a very hot heating light, which might be useful in extreme cold conditions. However, the shower had very low pressure, and it felt like I was being sprayed with a spray bottle.
Another drawback was the lack of wifi, which could be a problem for those needing it for work or personal use. The only carrier that worked in the hotel was Verizon, and you had to wander around on the trails to get any kind of network.
Overall, while the trip was amazing, I would recommend booking a hotel outside the park that offers more modern amenities.
