I not often leave reviews specially negative ones but this was an exceptionally bad experience. Arriving at El Santuario is an experience of calm and relaxation, the reception is filled with incense and there is cold tea and apples, the receptionist talked in a calm soothing voice so I was in for the weekend of couples relaxation and connection with each other. When i was escorted to our room the initial experience was good as well, expansive lake view with an indoor mini pool in the room with a chaise lounge next to it ... pretty cool RIGHT? Here goes the WARNING, I will state only facts so you can do with them as you wish. The toilet stall does not close correctly and the door is a thin glass with a wood frame, poorly ventilated or not at all. ( I hated the compact space as well ) Indoor pool is heated to a steaming degree, our room was literally a SAUNA and has no air conditioning. Your choice of heat or mosquitos The windows are hard to open and close and the screen does not properly seal the gap so plenty of mosquitos can share your high end hotel Jr Suite. The bathroom area (toilet, shower and sink) is painted with something that looks like pool or epoxy paint in black that gives the feel of uncleanliness and is some areas was sticky Toilet stall had a foul smell that lingered thru our stay Shower head was filled with calcium so the stream was very wide and hard to enjoy a shower. Room was not made up and dial 0 for no answer!

First impression was good, great welcoming on behalf of the staff. When you get to your room reality doesn’t seem as pictures in website. The room is hot and humid because of the indoor pool, there is no AC! You need to ask for 3 fans in order to sleep at night. Rooms look old and need maintenance. F&B prices are over the top, service in restaurant and room service are very slow although there are plenty of waiters. Staff is nice and are willing to help you, unfortunately this didn’t make our stay any better. Overall the hotel is overpriced, you don’t get what you pay for. The best thing in the hotel is the view. Wouldn’t go back.

Place is awesome, staff even better. Room service is horrible. There are several details about cleaning that should be better

The view is amazing! All rooms have a Pool inside and a great view. The spa is nice, but my santuario massagge wasn’t good as I expected. I recommend them to improve the kitchen. Prices and hotel category needs better food.

I booked a room(ROOM 3) with more than 400 USD, but I really regret! Good things: the view from restaurant, the food in the restaurant Bad feeling things: 1.in the room there was no air condition, we called, and after 3~4 hours, they send us a fan. but when it's bed time...I found all the mosquito which enjoyed the fan with us in the rooms are all died on my bed....can you image....and the second morning I found the facility of the door is so bad, that's why all the little animals comes in last night.... 2. no Wifi in our rooms, and this issue we called 3~4 times to reception and they just told us they are working on that, and until check out it not fixed, and no apologize from anyone. 3. the pool in the room is just a pool of water, we have no button to open any function of Jacuzzi or change the water or change the temperature...and the water is so cold that you can't use, so....useless 4. there was a party just outside our room....and it's finished until 9 pm..... check if there is a party or not before you choose the room!!!!!!!!!
