Fishing & Relaxation
We stayed at the Odanak for a long week-end stay in July 2018. The primary purpose of the trip was to take in some trout fishing around the lake. We arrived after a lovely drive up highway 155. Note that there is a gravel road leading to the Odanak but it was not difficult to drive through. The total gravel road distance is roughly 15kms and took perhaps 20 minutes, it was not a problem. Once you pull up to the Odanak after the final stretch of dirt road it feels like you have reached an oasis! The grounds are beautiful with the hotel located right in front of a gorgeous natural lake. There are good quality mountain bikes available on site (free) to ride around the lake. We enjoyed that. There are also kayats and pedal boats, which we took out on a few occasions. The water was quite warm for swimming and felt very clean. The highlight for us was some early morning fishing. The staff prepared our boat with a small outboard motor. The hotel staff, in general, was terrific. I caught a nice trout about 2 or 3 pounds. The hotel chef prepared it for us which made for a excellent lunch. Dinner options were somewhat limited, however, but we ate well. Caveat: This is not a super fancy "resort". It was originally built as a fishing and hunting camp many years ago. However nature lovers that enjoy the great outdoors and simplicity will really enjoy this place. Overall, it was a great trip.

AVOID THIS PLACE BY ANY REASON!
TERRIBLE ! Cannot eat after 8PM . Not even quick lunch, chips or anything. No vending machine in middle of nowhere. Overcharged us, our room was not available, no TV even if its listed on website. The wifi doesn't work. RUDE service from one girl telling me than it's not normal to eat past 8pm even asking if im usually asking my mom to make me a steak after 8 PM... The other group before us paid for dinner, never had it. No manager on site even in the day. The bar close at 11:30 even if you are a group still drinking...
