Whenever we go visit our daughter, who is a 4th year McGill student, we stay here. This visit was to move her home. We love the ambience of the place, the friendly staff, proximity to downtown and the unique rooms. This last trip Walin/Walid, the night clerk was especially helpful when a situation occurred. His empathy, kindness and caring helped solve a problem very quickly with positive results. When Covid is all over, we will be back to visit Montreal and hopefully this gem of a hotel will still be in business.

  • 6.0.Good

Good, at best. Pros: -Very well located and a quick walk to anywhere with great food, shopping, coffee, music etc. -Reception were both lovely to deal with. Accommodating, friendly, genuine and knowledgeable. -The room was very cute looking with a nautical theme and nice touches. -Came with a very generously portioned breakfast that had a lot of variety that was served to the room directly. Cons: - I have slept on better beds in low budget hostels. The mattress was really quite bad. I think they need to look into replacing some of the beds (all?) unsure as I can only speak to the one room we were in. -Little cosmetic details, like our sink missing a knob top, would be inexpensive to fix and make a big difference. -The room we were in, even with all the lamps and window blinds open, was quite dark. Could have had to do with the paint colour (blue). -While the breakfast was a lot of food..it was not good. The coffee tasted like water. I would have preferred quality coffee and a nice croissant over the extravagant breakfast that was presented. I think for the price, it is fair that there were some elements that reflected the above cons. For the one night we stayed here, we were satisfied.

This was such a cozy place. Felt like staying at Grandma's house. The staff were so nice and helpful. The room was clean. The only negative is the water doesn't get very hot, at least it didn't in my room. I will definitely be going back.
