Pretty good
I would give a 4 out of a 5. We called them and they picked us from the airport for free. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable, including a little sink and towels. The view from the window is not that great but it was ok. Bed was comfortable. We used shared bathrooms that were not occupied most of the time. They are clean and there is about 4 of them. There was just a shower but it was totally ok for me. People at the reception are very polite and helpful but they are often not here at late time and new guests are lost and don't know what to do. You become very familiar with people staying here and socialize in the kitchen. The breakfast was good:tomatoes, cucumbers, hard boiled eggs, cheese, ham, salami, yogurts, cereals, bread, many kind of spreads. There is a coffee machine making cappucino, latte and hot chocolate/tea/juices/water. You can watch TV.

Great value and convenience
We booked a family room with a king plus bunk beds with bathroom. Room was spacious and clean, bunkbed wasn't hard to climb up and down. Breakfast room open and ready at 3:30am. 4:45am airport pickup was only 5 minutes late. Hotel was 10 minutes from airport. Neighborhood is not that attractive but you can't beat the price and convenience. The kitchen/ breakfast room is open all the time where you can make simple dinner. The free Wi-Fi was slow and Omar let me use another wifi address that worked better. Most other rooms are hostel like and have to share bathrooms.

Excellent - overnight stay
I found the guesthouse to be classy. Elegant but minimalist. It was furbished far more recently than the hotel we used in Finland. This would be great for anyone who just needed a short-term place to stay. Like us. Understandably small rooms for a former police station. :) You could see down to the harbor from our hilltop too. Not close to anything, unless you are willing to walk over a mile [as we did] for food, but that was good exercise after a flight from Finland. We didn't try the Keflavik bus, we lacked kroners -- but for able-bodied visitors, the bus stop was across the road. Traffic noise from cars going by; more like white noise than a disturbance, however. The bakery [by the Coke place/double drive-thru] and the Chinese restaurant at the foot of the hill: highly recommended!

Basic but adequate
The place is very basic with bathroom down the hall. A corner bed so a little awkward getting in and out but it was clean and comfortable and for the one night it was quite adequate. Breakfast starts at 3:00 a.m. to accommodate early flights.

This was a choice made for the practicality of being near the airport. First thing to note; it's not a hotel, it's an HI hostel. It's fine, but as with everything in Iceland the cost is steep for very basic accommodation. It's kept clean, but the hostel is near a main road and people check in and out throughout the night (again, airport proximity). Perfectly fine for what we did, but a steep price. The lady at check-in could have been friendlier, too.
