Lights and power points need to be fixed!
All I need, except for problem with power points and lights. (Room 387?; forgot) Power point next to the table where the iron was did not work! Had to move a chair, unplug the desk light to plug in the kettle, while kettle on the floor. I could have put the kettle on the chair and plugged in next to the air conditioner (besides that power point was loose, had tape over it and did not seem safe), but the chair surface was too osft and hence not stable for the kettle. Not sure, what the desk lamp on the low desk next to the bed was for. Too low and far away from bed for readng and to be useful for the larger and higher bench where one would normally make the tea/coffee. The bed light did not work. Supply of power cord to lengthen kettle cord or even one with two power points to use on the bench for the desk lamp and the kettle would be useful. Also, difficult to fill the kettle with water has the sink tap is too low; so can't fit kettle underneath. Unsure abourt leaving. When I first tried to walk out just before 8 am the door was locked. I had been given instructions how to get in after the door was locked, but not how to get out. I heaard a noise at the door, as if unlocking and at the second try pulling at the door, it opened. Don't know, if that is the design of the door to have to pull on a locked door to unlock it, or if by chance it happened to turn 8 am for door to automatically unlock. .Pretty scary. I nearly panicked.

A comfortable mid-range stay in Melbourne
I travel as family of 4 with a 10 year old kid and a 65 year old female during winter in Melbourne. Coming from tropical country, the wind and the cold breeze of Melbourne can be a challenge. We arrived 7.30 AM in Melbourne knowing we cant check in before 2 PM. However, the gentleman in the front office were so kind to let us check in at around 8.30 without additional charges. We payed A$470 for 3 night for a family room with small kitchenette and a bathroom with good showers. The room were not too spacious but it was clean and beds were comfortable (except for the sofabed). All the staff are nice and friendly and also keen on helping and they also let us stored our bags after checking out until we could collected it again in late afternoon. The free wifi were not at its best, but it had it uses and still allows a reasonable internet connection. Dont let the building entrance or the elevator scares you, for the room was nice. The location was great (near federation square and close to various tram stops. However, situated in a room near the street can be quite noisy in at night, but not too noisy that a good pair of earplug cant cure. However, during our 2nd day of stay, the water were cut of due to construction on Swanson street that had a whole block of the power and water cut out for a day or two. Except for the lost of water (which were no fault of the hotel), and those minor glitches, I would definitely stay in this motel again.

3 night stay in a single room
Had a single room with single bed, very comfortable with plenty of space. Room had a good mini fridge, microwave, toaster so can cater for self. Supermarket opposite. The motel is a cheaper and basic alternative considering how much a better hotel room in the cbd will cost. It was quiet overall but construction does start early on the nearby underground railway station being built so no good if you want to sleep in. Close to transport, trams, etc and within easy walking distance to all amenities, sightseeing. The motel is a little shabby, showing wear and tear, no housekeeping on Sundays and my room was not cleaned until later in the day, no effort made to vacuum the floor which had obvious general street debris on the carpet, some of which was already there when I checked in. I did not realise there was no sunday housekeeping as when I booked the room there was no comment indicating this. Reception helpfully gave me supplies. Bags can be stored if necessary. I would consider staying there again simply for the price and it was comfortable. Observed a double room nearby mine (the door was open for housekeeping to clean) and could see the double bed was pushed up against a wall so maybe not so much room in a double room???

Poor 2.0
Shocking experience. Will never return.
My stay was not good at all. My son booked and paid for the room as a surprise to make my day/ night easier as I just needed to a place to rest for a few hours between 2 jobs. I could not even get in because the reception staff insisted that I pay $250 cash deposit for the room in case of damage. I did not have the money on me to do so, and my son did not read the fine print. I offered to leave my mobile phone as a security deposit with the reception staff but was flatly refused. I was turned away after being exhausted after a 16hour shift, even though I paid the $109!! Absolutely terrible experience and I will be actively telling everyone I know to stay away from such a ruthless, and inconsiderate place to stay.

Fair 4.0
Don't stay here. Whilst the rooms are not filthy, it would be difficult to say they are clean. Everything is old. They don't clean the rooms or change the towels. There was a TV in the room but even after asking twice it was too much for them to provide me with a remote. By the end of my stay I was drying myself with a hand towel because providing new towels was also too much to ask. I arrived late but over an hour prior to 8pm (they advised you needed to make arrangements if you arrived after 8pm). But upon arrival the doors were locked and there was no one there. I was stuck on the footpath with my luggage and no access to anything. Unhelpful and lazy staff. To top it off the room was noisy from other guests creaking floor, slamming doors (which you could not help as they were impossible to close quietly) and street noise. I have nothing positive to say about this room.
